This is a great size and not too heavy, but good quality. Super nonstick! Read more
I needed a good skillet. This one fit the bill. It was inexpensive - 12" - nonstick - oven safe - etc. I found that it was larger than my old 12". It's heavy - which is good for a pan. Once its hot - it stay's hot. I found that I could use a lower setting on the stove with this pan - it's efficient. There was no lid - which I knew when I purchased it. But its so much larger than all of our other cookware, even the largest size lid I have doesn't fit. I'm very happy with my selection. And I would recommend this pan! [UPDATE] After three years of use, the pan is still the one I reach for daily. The pan still looks great! But in the very center of the pan, food will now stick. If you look closely, you can see a blemish area about two inches round in the very middle of the pan. Overall, three years of constant, daily use ... I think this pan is a great buy. I'm looking at buying another. I might also get the 8" Cuisinart for small recipes. Read more
We needed a replacement for a giada brand teflon pan that we frequently use. My husband does the cooking and noticed that the teflon was beginning to wear, so I handed him my phone and told him to buy a pan that he liked. He is very meticulous and particular about what he wants, so i just let him search. After about 30 minutes of reviewing a few different pans, he chose this one. He liked that it had a large surface area, thick wall (width/how tall the pan was) that the material would not flake like teflon, seemed sturdy and would heat evenly. The pan arrived to our house quickly and after examining it, he was very happy with the quality. I had been a little worried that the handle would prevent us from storing it with our other pans (too wide for the shelf we have) but it turned out to fit just fine. We washed it and used it that night to make a penne spaghetti dish. He was happy with how it performed. Note: the pan says that it can withstand metal utensils, but for anything coated we just don't believe that - I saw another review where a chef said that His whisk scratched the pan. We've scratched other pans before so we just simply refrain from using metal utensils (my husband prefers wood and other materials anyway). Read more

I've had other non-stick pans, but this one is so much better than those, they don't even belong in the same category. I still use a little olive oil when I cook -- habit -- but I think that's not really necessary. Even when the food starts to burn, it doesn't stick. RE: food starts to burn -- this pan cooks so much faster, and at lower heat, that it took some adjustments to my cooking. This pan cooks well with about 2/3rds the amount of heat as my other pans, in about 2/3rds the time. Now that I've figured all that out, I hardly ever burn the meat. <grin> Cleanup is a breeze. I wipe the pan with a damp paper towel as soon as I put the food on the plate, just to get rid of the leftover oil, sauce, whatever. (Probably not necessary, but I'd rather throw that stuff in the trash than run it down the drain.) When the pan is cool, I set it in the sink, add a few drops of dish liquid, fill it with water, and let it set for a while. I go back later and use a dishcloth or paper towel to rub the surface of the pan with the soapy water, rinse, and it's done. There's been no scrubbing necessary. (Maybe if I burned something to a crisp, but I haven't done that.) I bought the 8-inch skillet for single-person meals (4 oz meat) and the 12-inch skillet for family-sized meals (1 lb. meat). I like them so much that I've just ordered the 11-inch flat griddle; I expect it'll make reheating leftover pizza much easier. These pans are absolutely wonderful, and I highly recommend them. We bought one of these along with the 10 inch version. After years of disappointment in non-stick skillets we've finally found a product that works and lasts. 19 months later, having seen nearly daily use of each, these skillets are still in great shape, and should last a long time to come. We can strongly recommend these skillets for quality, longevity, and bang for the buck. Here are the basic rules we follow to take care of them: No heat above medium setting, *never* use "Pam" or any spray oils (we use olive oil), never use metal utensils (don't be tempted, no matter what they say about being safe for metal utensils), and only use scouring pads made for non-stick skillets (although scouring pads are very seldom needed). The surfaces now only show tiny wear scratches, and nothing that goes all the way through the non-stick layer. Only normal wear and tear, and much less than any other non-stick skillet we've owned. And the non-stick surface still works like it should. These are keepers, and we'll buy again when they finally do wear out. Good for you Cuisinart! Read more
I used the larger version of this frying pan for years with great results. This smaller version is super convenient and has both the heft and the non stick qualities of the larger pan. These pans are very durable and great for daily use. Read more
