6 Flavors to Try (and I'm updating as I do)

CrazyHorrorGirlDecember 1, 2018

I ordered a few different flavors and hope I can review each. If not, I'll just update this review. Cream Earl Grey - 5 stars: as soon as I cut the bag open to pour into my strainer I was in heaven. The smell of bergamot and cream gave me new life and hope for the rest of my day. Once I poured the hot water, though, I was transported to my own personal paradise, where I sipped, and died from pleasure. I'm currently a caffeinated zombie typing this review. This tea is THAT yummy! Please allow me to sample the rest of my teas before you come to hunt me down, though. I'd hate not to be able to review them all. *Update* Mango Black Tea: 3.5 teaspoons in my 45 oz pot seems to be perfection. If it's not obvious by now, I do love black tea. Maybe because it's as black as my horror-writing heart. Maybe it's because of the caffeine content. Or maybe it's both. If you like black tea and you like mango, I urge you to give this one a taste. It makes my taste buds sing and dance, which is great for them, but strange for soulless me to admit. 2/6 tasted. Updates will continue. *Update 2* Monk's Blend: I'm back with 3/6! Tastes a bit like creamsicle black tea, however, the package notes it is a Ceylon tea. To my not-so-refined tastebuds, it's very close to black tea. I also taste possibly some kind of flower, which I hope isn't toxic to the zombie I've become. Caffeine content also feels comparable to black tea. I've not done any research, I'm merely reporting what my discombobulated brain and tasters are telling me to tell you. Another delicious blend I highly recommend. 3 more updates to follow (lemon mint, peppermint, and earl grey). **Last Update** I've finally tasted them all! Earl Grey: WAY better than that nonsense you get in a bag! Disclaimer: I do carry Bigelow with me when on campus or somewhere I can't brew a pot. I will be ordering this in a larger size if available. (3.5 teaspoons for a 45 oz pot) Lemon Mint: made a 45 oz pot with the usual 3.5 teaspoons. Try 2-2.5 as the lemon was a bit overpowering in the brew I made. The lemon perked up my forever closed eyes, though, so I happily give it (as well as every brew thus far 5 stars). Peppermint: I live for peppermint anything. This tea (again 3.5 teaspoons for a 45 oz pot) made me so dang happy! I'm the black-souled horror writer with a heart to match, and this tea alone made me smile! Imagine that! I look forward to ordering more Beantown Tea, as thier blends are truly amazing. They even give you a bit of a tea-ducation with your order! So much love and so much thanks to Beantown Tea and Spices! Read more

decent quality and quantity for the price

craftyrabbitOctober 17, 2018

I think the amount and overall the quality of this tea compared to the price is actually pretty good. It mostly depends on your own taste. I got 7 flavors this time and I plan on buying more when I'm done with this batch. here's a list of the flavors and my opinion on them: Cherry blossom green tea - personally this is one of my favorites. it smells really good and the taste is actually light and only a little fruity red orange fruit blend - the smell for this one, though good, was incredibly string. my mug smelled like this tea after I washed it so I had to wash it again just to get rid of it. otherwise the flavor was pretty good. not overpowering with a bit of a citrus flavor. apple strawberry fruit tea - have yet to try irish breakfast - very bold flavor but not at all unappealing in taste. if you like your tea flavor to be a little stronger i'd get this. very berry fruit blend - have yet to try pomegranate green tea - personally i hated this one. the smell was very strong but not unpleasant but the taste was a bit perfumelike. my mom however loves it chamomile - smells horrible but tastes divine. Great way to sample multiple teas, vendor added extra samples. Quite nice flavor.

Goth Gone GreyMarch 28, 2018

Enticed by the current promotion for 20% off 5 or more items, I purchased any of these that sounded tasty to me. The company was kind enough to add in 2 more samples as well. Thus far I've tried the red orange and the lychee black tea - I'll add more as I try more. Each sample bag seems to be enough for 3 small or two large mugs of tea, and some can be brewed multiple times if they're a stronger tea. The red orange is a very nice, fruity flavor that I will probably order again - a perfect non-caffeinated evening blend. The lychee black tea is also tasty, without being overpowering. Very Berry is a nice, slightly tart flavor that brewed a deep lovely red. So far I'd reorder anything I've tried! I will be looking at more from this vendor. Great, quick shipping and a lovely product. Read more

Thank you

Deseree' Jean ShulerAugust 4, 2019

I really like this tea, I ordered 2x peach, 2x blueberry. They gave me a cream Earl grey, and a red orange (thank you so much) I just got them today and I've made blueberry, it's amazing as I'm sure the rest will be and I'll absolutely be ordering more in the future. Ordered 2 more red orange, and got a very berry for free! Reviews on each tea below! *Blueberry- I find it amazing cold, but it's also good hot, but I personally prefer it cold. Great blueberry flavor. *Peach Black-really good cold, again though it's good hott too. It has a nice peach kick, it's not dull. *Cream Earl grey- it wasn't my cup of tea, but, I think strong coffee drinkers would love it. I have a nephew that does tea and milk, he loves it. *Red orange-top 3 favorite, I love it, it's full of fruity flavor and great cold. *Very berry- another favorite for me. I love the different tastes of fruit you get with it, while getting that nice hint of tea. *Lychee Black- I thought I'd love it, but it had this perfume, floral taste, like Jasmine teas I've tried. But some people really like that! *White Peach- even better than the black, it's lighter, so if you like the stronger taste, I'd go black. Read more

Green rooibos is milder and sweeter, red is earthier and more saturated

ReviewerFebruary 8, 2025

I bought both red/standard rooibos and green rooibos from this supplier and the red has a more saturated flavor, which some call nutty and earthy and I guess I can see that. Meanwhile the green has less of that, it's milder and more subtle and I get a taste in there also that reminds me of green tea, plus it's maybe a bit sweeter. I say the red is better on its own whereas the green will work better as a background layer to add depth to more prominent featured flavors in my herbal tea mixes. Read more
