My granddaughter had a fit for one of these in a bazaar, but they had jacked the price way up. So I ordered one from Amazon and she was thrilled. Played with it for months. So fast forward like a year and my grandson comes to visit. It was his favorite thing to play with while he was here, he called it the squirrel ball. So as they were packing to leave, he kept sneaking it into the suitcase. So I whipped out my handy dandy phone, opened the app, ordered him one, shipped it to their house, and it was waiting on him the next day when they arrived home. When I tell you, this boy was beyond thrilled!!!!!!! His mom sent me dozens of videos of him watching it rolling all over the house. He had to take it and show his grandparents that live there near them. The media could not be loaded. I remember having one of these with our Husky but he was never impressed with it (he was kind of a scaredy cat—wouldn’t drink out of a stainless steel bowl because he saw his reflection!!). However, our little Shihpoo puppy loves it!! Although you need to let your pet get used to it before you turn it on because a moving toy is not natural!! Now he loves to grab it and then swing it around as fast as he can go. He gets play time and we get lots of laughs!! Keep in mind that it’s longer than he is! It’s taken quite a beating but keeps on rolling around—very durable!! Only one drawback and that is he tries to pull the hair out. Like when a dog pulls fuzz off of a tennis ball. Basically, it's junk. I purchased one, years ago, as well. My Korat cat (she was 5 months old) was also afraid of ball, but.. she loved the weasel- slept with it, ate with it and howled when she lost it. Of course, that one had 4 times more faux fur (looked just like picture on box). It became her woobie. It was sweet and hilarious to watch. Except when she hid it from me and its bath time (in the washing machine) after the first time I washed it (she wasn't pleased) and she forgot where she'd hid it... After we'd gone to bed. My new cat (8 month months old) looked at it, sniffed, then started tearing out what little fur it had (geez.. not maternal like my other cat). And the fur didn't even go past the base stub, that the faux fur is attached to. Will look for another, that isn't junk. BEWARE: The front of box clearly states that the item inside MAY NOT BE AS PICTURED ON BOX. Boy.. what an understatement, not to mention that their picture doesn't show that statement. NOT cool. I read the reviews and thought ok I’ll try it . The weasel was held on by 2 of those plastic things that price tags for clothing . I knew that It wasn’t going to stay on …I Got some embroidery floss and sew it on better so that the weasel would stay on. But it was destroyed within minutes. The weasel was torn and it was ( tried ) to be eaten. Which that’s dangerous because it could potentially get stuck in the dogs throat.. So I have been using it without the weasel on it ( because I knew it would last if I reattached it ) My dog bites the ball and it comes apart with the battery part (even though it’s in plastic covering ) it’s still exposed if the dog bites through that plastic part they dog could chew into the batteries . So the ball is opened and I worry that the dog will start chewing on that part where the batteries are that the batteries will get punctured. It’s a good concept if it was made better . If there was a screw holding the ball together so it couldn’t be pulled apart .. I think with a screw holding the ball together would help . I don’t know how or what else they can make it safer and better? but it’s not made very well .idk if it worked well would be good. You could give as a gift but it wouldn’t last .
