I love sturdy, over the shoulder canvas bags for every day out and about things. For some reason I'm a dirt magnet, so I love to be able to wash not fancy bags occasionally. It can be hung over one shoulder, or adjusted for room to hang crosswise over both shoulders around the neck (especially great for traveling to deter purse snatchers). Speaking of purse snatchers or pick pockets, a must is to be able to zip up to deter loose sticky finger hands. This fits the bill for all of the above. BUT!!!... My only gripe is that the pocket options are lame. There are two TINY!!! pockets on the inside of the bag, one open that everything falls out of all the time making it almost useless, and another even tinier zip pocket attached to that pocket that can hold maybe a tube of lipstick or gloss OR a very small set of keys, but not much else. The rest of the interior of the bag is Mary Poppins roomy, but good luck finding anything once it goes in there, unless it is a very large object like a book or a water bottle. Anything smaller that you want to be able to zip up falls into the bermuda triangle, unless you want to prop your bag up and spend several minutes shoveling through it. There is a slightly larger zip on THE OUTSIDE of the bag, which provides a bit more functionality, but being on the outside of the bag, anything you put in is more prone to get bashed about or stolen from savvy pick pockets in crowded areas such as subways, etc. The two remaining pockets on either side of the bag are 'almost' useless, being maybe big enough to hold a pair of glasses that you don't mind losing (these pocket's don't close), but also just a little TOO small and narrow access anything else you might not mind losing, but have handy. I have washed and dried it a couple of times, and it's held up well, not fraying nor losing color, so an extra star for that. Overall, 3.5 stars, but 4 because no halfsies, and aside from lack of pockets, it's a good & sturdy bag. I'd give 5 stars if there were at least one equally decent-sized pocket as exists on the outside, especially if it could be zipped up. (Aside pro tip for travelers, and to provide more context about pickpockets: I've lived and traveled in cities all over the world, and with an over the both shoulder bag that has a main compartment that can be zipped, AND with an additional INSIDE pocket that can ALSO be zipped to hold most important things like wallet, keys, and expensive phone (that you are not prone to looking at it every 5 seconds), I've never actually been pick pocketed or had anything stolen. I have, however, had several friends that have been pickpocketed because they carried fairly loose open bags that can't be closed, or even been pickpocketed with sort of closed bags, and if it's not an over the shoulder bag and you act like a tourist, you have an almost guaranteed chance of someone trying to snatch your entire bag or purse, and likely will be successful.) love this bag for carrying workout gear but it would also be good as a general carry all if, like me, you really dislike backpacks and how annoying it is to wear them off-shoulder. I bought the indigo one, and I could not be happier. Such a great deal, and strong, well made, fits the body well and nice strap. It looks better in real life than photos. I love it.
