Dakine VERGE BACKPACK 32L

I love this backpack. I first found it when looking for a backpack for my husband. I gave him a few choices of what I thought would make good choices & he chose this one (black). A year later when I needed an upgrade, I bought the same one. Why? Because it's durable, classy, the perfect size, has so many pockets in all the right places, and I can't think of a reason not to. I bought this in gray with yellow straps. The color wasn't my first choice, but it's not bad either. I wish there were more options, but that's okay. It probably saves me from wanting 5 different color backpacks in the same style. We've taken them both through the airport a few times & they are super easy to travel with. Bonus - I've gotten compliments on how nice a backpack it is. It holds way more than it seems it should/could, but also is light enough that you never feel like you're wearing a huge, bulky, backpacking pack. My husband was able to pack for a weeklong work trip & this was the only bag he brought. If I had to pick one thing I would comment on, it would be that the sunglasses holder pouch at the top of the bag isn't big enough for me to comfortably put my sunnies in there. It's a lovely, fleece lined pocket that I put other things in, but I was nervous my sunnies may get squashed (see photo with chapstick & one with standard construction pencil for size reference). Great backpack. Love the camel color. Plenty of pockets and nice durable material with lots of zippers. My husband travels constantly and it fits under the airplane seat even when it is packed full. We especially like that there are two water bottle holders on either side of the bag. Read more

Always have liked Dakine products, and since I already had some other Dakine stuff, I went ahead and chose this backpack to go along with it. Nearly everything about this backpack is perfect (great pocket location and not too many, well made zippers, lightweight, and comfortable), except I personally dont like the shiny material its made with as much as the darker more jean-like/vinyl type material they have other backpacks made with. Its nice for the strength, the weight, and durability.....jist personally dont like how much it shines in the sink. I imagine it does help to reflect heat away from the bag though so I feel its a fair trade off. I left the backpack in the sink for two hours with cold gatorades, and when I came back the drinks were still fairly cold which I didn't expect. I ordered this backpack for college. The color is beautiful. I think the backpack is overall very well designed. It has a few hidden pockets. I don't know if I already have found all of them. It has loads of space and I like how you can adjust the bottle pocket. It fits a 15.6 inch laptop. The shoulderstraps are very comfortable, especially when you carry heavy stuff. It doesn't hurt my back, neck and shoulders as much. This is a big plus for me since I'm hypermobile. The gasp on the straps also fit over bigger chests without hurting the ladies. I'm really happy with my new backpack and hopefully it will last as long as my old one. Since the backpack isn't waterproof itself, you might wanna order a waterproof spray for textile with it. Since I couldn't really find reviews or pictures of this backpack and especially this color, I made a bunch so hopefully they're useful to someone, haha. The shipping was also very fast. It took 2 days to actually ship, but from placing the order to delivery it took 4 days (from US to Netherlands), while when ordering it said it would arrive on the 30th of July. I own a lot of Dakine products, that are all made very well. However, this feels a step above their normal! This has the zippers a little more hidden than my other Dakine backpacks. It has so many compartments, well placed and well designed large compartments. I love that has the strap on the back to go over the roller suitcase handle, none of my non-travel specific backpacks have ever had that. Only issue I have is you gotta go slow with the hidden zippers or they may catch the lip of the material flap used to hide the zipper. I did change the zipper pulls to some with color, to make it easier to find since some of the little pockets are very well hidden. Read more

This bag has every compartment i ever needed or wanted and its so easy to use especially on the plane. It is sturdy but lightweight and has a padded place for laptop and other electronics. it has padded spot for glasses and a couple hidden pockets behind the straps. When stowing under the seat on an airplane it is so easy to slide out and pull out whatever is needed from the front pocket and zippered area. Oh yeah, and it has an awesome bottom zippered area good for shoes or whatever you want. It holds a ton of stuff too besides laptop and ipad and phone and shoes it has space for toiletries and clothes. Choke space fo put all your stuff. Da kine is "DA KINE" You know what i mean. A friend recommended this as the backpack for me to take to the office. After the pandemic, my company's office re-opened, but you wouldn't have your own desk unless you come in the office at least 3 days a week, which I was not willing to commit to. This meant that I had to carry a wide array of items with me, including a spare change of clothes because I bike to work. These items needed to be separated (clean clothes separated from dirty and tech separated from clothes. Also I like tea... so I carry some tea making stuff with me. I am happy to say that this backpack is basically perfect for my situation. It has enough room for everything and is compressible enough to bike with conveniently. The only thing I changed about it is that I got multi-colored zipper pulls to make it easier to open the precise compartment I intended to cause there's a LOT of zippers. Read more
