Sharp, sleek and elegant
You may pay a little more, but it is worth every penny. These knives hold their edge, feel good in the hand and look fantastic. We are a family of three boys, we hunt and eat meat every night, we like our steak sliced not torn apart and we know a good high quality piece of cutlery when we use one and these are the real deal. DALSTRONG Steak Knife Folding Block Set - 8 Pc - 5" Straight Edge Blade - Gladiator Series
So I was a little nervous when I purchase these instead of the Wusthoff classic, but because all the reviews were so good and it is returnable I took a chance. I enjoy a good sharp knife and have a few different kinds. The German makers are usually the best. When these arrived I was pleasantly surprised given the good price for a sizeable set. The construction appear very good quality. The knives are attractive and have a solid heft to them. They are extremely sharp. We had steak soon after they arrived and they cut like "butter." Their instructions are clear, do not use dishwasher, hand wash and dry after use (because moisture on even good stainless steel can make marks). So I have followed these to the letter. My only complaint is actually about the wooden rack that it came in. The rack itself is attractive and made of nice wood. I wish it would fold closed as a case for the knife set. As it is you can only stand it up or lie it flat. With our limited counter space I already have my all purpose knife rack on the counter and can't afford more knives up there. If you lie it flat in a drawer or cabinet the knives will slide out. So ultimately I found a cabinet to stand the case up in. Here I think the seller description is not as clear as it could be because I imagined it as a case as well as a stand. Read more
Wood block had sone inconsistencies
Received my knives and wood block today. The knives are Great!!, the wood block is made very well but the color is off. Not like the picture and not up to Dalstrong standards. Didn't look like any wood block I have ever purchased.. I purchased the Obliterator with wood stand and the wood stand is amazing. Dalstrong needs better quality control. Contacted Dalstrong and they took care of the problem immediately !! Great Company. Read more
