Not comfortable as a ranch boot Read more
I wear 8.5 to 9 and tried on the size 8 and 8.5 in the local store. Then 8.5 was too loose even after adding the 3/4 insert I brought to try boots on. The size 8 fit but tightly so they stretched them for 15 minutes, which helped, but the left boot was tighter. I thought it would give in time, so I bought them. I was trying on some Ariats at the same time, which were way more comfortable with a full rubber sole and heel, but the Dan Post Alexy's looked more attractive I chose those instead. I really liked the 12" shaft with the low cut v and napped distressed leather, and the not too broad, broad square toe look: these are attractive boots and look great on. They are not that cushy-comfortable however; the hybrid outsole is made to look like a leather outsole from the side view. Adding rubberto the heels and outsoles for non-slip tread works great. But the thinner patchwork rubber hybrid still means not a lot between your foot and the ground, and feels more stiff and hard (feels better than leather soles, less cushy than rubber). I felt the boots were between just o.k. comfort-wise, or not that comfortable. You could wear them right out of the box. But I would not rave about the comfort on these: only the attractive looks. After wearing inside I noticed the left boot was still too tight, so I tape-measured the arch across each foot. The right boot was 1/2" wider than the left! It was a defective pair, so I had to return. Watch out for defects and measure if in doubt. Note: I had purchased Bickmore Gard-More water repellant to preserve the soft napped leather which is suede-like. I would NOT use this product again, as it stiffens and contracts (even shrinking) the leather making them even more stiff/hard than they were before. I would not advise using that product unless you need to shrink and contract the leather on your boots and stiffen the leather. Also, the fit is odd. I seem to be between 8 and 8.5. The 8.5 was too long and the heels flopped on my foot with a 3/4 insert added. A full length insert would be better, but probably too tight in the toes; as the boots are flat in the front foot/toe area. A very attractive boot, but for me I was frustrated with the comfort and fit. If you don't mind the flatter and harder feel and look of a leather sole, these might work for you. Read more
I love Dan Post boots, but this pair feels weird when walking. The top side of the foot part is very shallow, and the heel of the boot does not follow your heel up, when you’re on the ball of foot. It’s just weird. Maybe it was designed for flat footed people, I don’t know. I couldn’t stand it, ended up giving the boots away. Read more
This is the first truly comfortable pair of boots I've owned! I have pretty wide feet, and it's really been a struggle to find a pair that not only looks nice but also is comfortable. These guys are IT! Read more

Boots are very comfortable and true to size. Very beautiful when you actually see them in front of you, and the craftsmanship is amazing, online photos don’t do them justice. They are pricey but having them and seeing them is understandable and price is worth it. Read more

Quite honestly the best casual boot I’ve ever owned and believe me I have a closet full of them. Most are ariat and I am sold on Dan Post. I’ll probably never go back to ariat after wearing these for almost a month. They are a bit stiff but loosen with time. Mostly in the shaft. I was able to wear these right out of the box and they were completely comfortable thought the toe and heel. Like they felt like I owned them forever. Don’t be weary if you get a scuff it truly adds character to the boot. If you’re debating on buying just do it. They are soooo beautiful in person. The advertised picture does them absolutely no justice. Read more
