My previous microwave died and I needed to get a new one. One that was small enough to fit on my countertop. It was a more difficult task than I thought it would be. After much internet browsing, the Danby microwaves caught my attention. The sizes were not too big and they seemed easy to use. The price was right too. Mine has 900 watt power so I have to heat up my items a little longer, but it works effectively. I use my microwave to reheat leftovers and heat up the occasional frozen dinner. We really liked this microwave. Saved counter space and worked great. Looks great. Nice size turn table and it worked perfectly. Fit everything we needed to reheat. Super happy with it until this week. We have had the microwave 4 years and 9 months and the fuse blew. The screws are safety screws. I bought a safety bit kit and opened the microwave. Cracked and very blown fuse. Replaced the fuse and every time we open the door it blows again. Sigh. The microwave is in great shape, but I don't know which switch or component needs to be replaced. Other things to note:. Popcorn Button - Pops popcorn well, but we found the popcorn button didn't cook the popcorn quite long enough for a standard size bag. Might be set more for mini bags. My kids just put it on 2 minutes and it turns out great. Interior Paint - The paint stains easily in some spots. The white paint was just a little thin in a few areas. Potato Button - Cooks potatoes well. It doesn't have a sensing feature, so you determine if it is setting 1, 2 or 3 for potatoes. Read more

This is a smaller microwave with great features and looks very nice too. It's very quiet also. Best of all, the light on the inside turns on when you open the door, not just when it's cooking! Read more

This microwave replaced a similar size microwave of 15 plus years. This one does the same thing, works well, but is a bit clunkier in operation and sound, i.e. the door opening/closing and the incessant beeping even after the door has been opened. On our old one, once you opened up the door at the end of its cycle, the beeping stops, not on this one, it gives you 4 loud beeps whether you've opened the door or not. The cooking also seems to take a bit longer. But it does the trick. Took off a star for these minor annoyances plus the plastic ring that the glass plate sits on was split, discovered after opening. The plate and rotation functions but not sure if this damaged ring will be a problem down the road. Read more
