My first impression looking at these earrings is why in the world did I get them as I thought they may be too busy and cheap looking wearing them. The earring backing is larger than some so I had no problem putting them in my ears. You don't even feel you have earrings on when you wear them they're so lightweight . Usually I drop the smaller backings and spend too much time searching on the floor for them so it was nice to be able to put the earrings on in a flash. Once on, I was really surprised how much I like them. They didn't look gaudy, the dangling part of the earring with the cross wasn't too long or overdone. Yes, they sparkle but I had them on with an every day solid colored top, matching slacks, flat shoes and had on an18-in gold heart necklace that complimented the earrings. All of a sudden a boring outfit look pretty good and it was all due to these earrings. I don't think I would give them as a gift because I would be afraid the receiver would have the same first reaction I had but surprisingly to me I really think I'm going to wear these earrings quite often.
