I'm very happy with this so far! My Rove camera kept falling from the windshield using their suction cup; it just couldn't take the Texas heat in the summer. I wasn't sure if I would like having this sit further from the windshield, but the picture is just fine. I'm using this in a Jeep Wranger JL and it mounts fine to the mirror. The only thing I would change is I wish they would include shorter mounting screws. I plan on getting a smaller set and using locking nuts instead of the wingnuts. It's very sturdy and a good price. This is a well made mount. But I struggled to get it right. My goal was to get a Mobius Actioncam completely behind the mirror. It was pretty hard to do that. The ball joints have less freedom to get into arbitrary positions than you would expect. If I fastened the clamp around the lower part of the mirror support, no matter what I did I could not get the camera not obstructing vision at all. Finally I discovered that if I fastened the clamp as close as possible to the top of the mirror support and angled the ball to the right (rather than up) and contorted the gadget just right, it would work. A little more freedom in the angles the little posts on the balls can come out of the clamp gadget would make this an easier to use product. A more stubby adapter to 1/4 20 would also be helpful. I've not yet gotten power to may dash cam. When I get that hooked up, I'll amend my review with information about whether the dash cam stays steady or vibrates enough to affect picture quality. My dash came came with an adhesive gadget that would have worked fine on most windshields. But on my Prius, the area around and behind the mirror has some sort of plastic stuff with little holes in it, presumably to help block the sun. I was afraid that if I tried to put the adhesive on the plastic with the little hole in it, it might just pull the plastic off the glass. This dish cam mirror mount eliminates that problem. Read more

Nice car mount to save you from driving crazy when your camera falls because of the heat, it came pre-mounted, so it was very easy to install. Read more

I have a dash cam in each of our four cars; all but one came with a suction cup mount and if you're looking at this item and reading these reviews, you know they suck...er, stop sucking. This kit has a variety of adapters that should work with most cams. There's even an adapter for a GoPro mount or other small camera. I'm using this on two different models of cams. One just needed the correct included adapter, but the other required part of the cam's existing windshield mount, along with the included U bracket adapter. Although it can get awkward trying to work with the mirror's arm, installation is fairly easy and the instructions are written well. The ball joints allow you to position the cam more or less where you want/need it. Just make sure you fully tighten everything after it's in place. I haven't gone off-road or driven on extremely bad roads, but so far they haven't shifted and don't seem to move any more than the original mounts did. The kit comes with the assorted pieces and instructions in a sealed plastic bag. I ordered three kits and although I didn't need it, one package was missing the small U bracket. So that's one star off for quality control - someone else might have needed it. Also, make sure this will work in your car. That is to say, that your car's rearview mirror actually has an arm to attach it to. I ordered in haste without looking and my Hyundai Sonata's mirror doesn't have the standard arm mount. I was able to rig it up and it's holding okay so far, but wouldn't recommend this unless you're positive your car has some kind of arm this can fit around. Otherwise it's a nice solution and would definitely recommend it to replace those destined-to-fail suction mounts. ***Update*** After using these for almost a year, I have to come back and take away a star. The joints tend to loosen after a short while and you need to periodically re-tighten them. Which honestly hasn't been that big of a deal...until today when one of the plastic screw grips broke off. It's still functional as I can tighten the nut it was holding, but now I need to use pliers, etc. It still works well enough, and still better than suction cups, but I'm also expecting the same thing to happen in my other two vehicles. I purchased this for use with my Vantrue N2 Pro dash cam. Directly behind my car's rear view mirror is a fairly large case housing connected to the windshield which houses various sensors. Unfortunately the plastic case is large enough that it creates a blind spot in the camera's view when the dash cam is mounted directly on my windshield. If I wanted to keep the dash cam on my windshield, I would've had to place it very low which would have looked tacky and would have been a constant distraction in my line of sight while driving. This rear view mirror mount is G-R-E-A-T and you get a lot for the price. It comes with many different mounting connectors to accommodate dash cams of various types. The set that I received has a connector that fits my N2 Pro tightly without coming into contact with the charging pins on the dash cam itself. However, there are a couple areas that I feel could use improvement: 1. The connector that works with the Vantrue N2 Pro connects tightly to the dash cam, which is great for making sure that the dash cam stays secure while mounted. But it does make for a bit of a hassle when you need to disconnect the dash cam from the mount. 2. The mirror mount has two adjustable ball joints (which is great), however there is only one screw that lets you adjust the tightness of movement for both ball joints. It would be nice if each ball joint had it's own form of adjustment so that you could lock one in place but still be able to set the second joint at a different level of resistance. Overall, I'm VERY happy with this mount as it helped to keep my windshield uncluttered. Read more
