Did not know exactly what this was, basically just looking for an air fryer. But you can flip it and also use it as a grill. Doubt if I'll use that but its nice to have. Preheat is automatic. You pull out the tray to shake your food and it pauses until you return the tray. Mainly will use it for fries, but its nice to know I have these capebilities. And its a steal for the price. Nice air fryer for what I need. I needed a new air fryer to replace my first generation one. Now that I've used one for a while I wanted something with a bigger basket but not one of those double units that takes up a lot of counter space. This one is a good compromise. With my old one, that had a round basket, I used a silicone basket liner to make clean up easier. When I received this one my first thought was to find a silicone liner that would fit it. I couldn't find one easily so I decided to just use it without the liner. Now that I've used it I don't think I'm going to get a liner. Clean up was very easy. The display is very easy to read and operate once you've had a little experience with it. When you first start it up you'll see the pre-heating message and then a few seconds later (maybe 30 seconds if you've got it set on 400 degrees) the pre-heating message will go away and your timer will start counting down. I've used the grill feature just to try it. It works as advertised. As long as I'm able I'll probably continue to use my gas grill outside but when the weather get cold this little grill can make a burger or cook a piece of tuna or swordfish with no problems. To use the grill you need to separate the unit and place the metal grill plate on the heating units. The grill plate isn't stored in the unit so when you put it back to air fryer mode you have to store the grill plate someplace. I just put it on the counter and then set the air fryer on it so I know where it is the next time I need it. Read more
