8.5 fits like an 8.5 should fit. Nice and shiny, they look more expensive than they actually are. They'll do great for a couple weddings I have coming up. Minus one star because they're not the most comfortable. Relatively little cushioning and a bit of heel slip despite them fitting properly. Very comfortable oxfords. I have had another pair of oxfords that bite your heals with every step. These don't have that problem. The soles are soft as well so every step isnt announced. The style looks great and the cost is much lower than the other pair I have with the benefit that these are much more comfortable to wear all day. They have a nice shine right out of the box. I got these shoes to replace my current work shoes that are very worn out. I was pleasantly surprised when taking these shoes out of the box. The shoes look like they are made with quality material. The shoes are true to size. They are comfortable as far as Oxford shoes go. The insoles are soft and the shoe material flexes well. The color is what I would expect for a black dress shoe. After wearing these shoes every work day for about a month, they show no scuffs, or creasing in the material. They are a good value for the current price of $42.99. I have worn oxford dress shoes five days a week for the past 40+ years of my working life. I have had everything from shoe store brands like Florsheim, Thom McAn, and Bostonian, high-end department store brands from the likes of Marshall Field’s, Carson Piere Scott, and Macy’s, mass-market department store brands from Sears, Kohl’s, and J.C. Penney and even tried discount shoes from mall places like DSW and Shoe Carnival. In most cases fit, comfort, quality of materials and construction, and longevity went hand in hand with cost. The more you paid, the better the shoe. These shoes follow that rule of thumb. These DECARSDZ Brand plain toe oxfords remind me very much of what you would expect to find as an entry level dress shoe in a mass market department store. While the oxford styling is certainly classic, the materials and construction of these shoes is distinctly modern. They are made of 100% synthetic materials. The uppers are Polyurethane (aka plastic) and the sole is “Thermoplastic Elastomers” (aka plastic rubber). The finish is more satin than shiny and has some subtle graining or texture to it which, to be honest, greatly helps disguise the fact they are not real leather shoes. For a synthetic construction shoe, I must acknowledge they are reasonably comfortable. I have worn them in 80-degree weather and 40-degree weather and they performed adequately. Remained comfortable for a full day. Have had them about a month now and worn them about half a dozen times without issue (I rotate my dress shoes so they air out and last longer). On a 1 to 10 scale (with 10 being the most comfortable shoe ever made and 1 being too painful to wear) I would rate these shoes at a 7-8. I have a wide foot and normally wear a size 11. Since these shoes do not offer the option of wide sizing, I would normally have gone up a half-size. However, 11.5 is not offered so I went up a full size to a 12. They are just a touch looser than I normally like my shoes so I would say they run pretty close to true to size. These shoes would be perfect for the man that needs to have a pair of dress shoes on hand but only for special occasions (weddings/funerals/job interviews). Or someone that is required to wear dress shoes for work but the environment is hard on footwear or the pay grade does not justify high end leather shoes. These shoes are durable, comfortable, and still classy. They're comfortable, and the leather seems good. The laces hold pretty well. They arrived pre-laced. I do a fair amount of city walking during my commute or lunch breaks, and these have been solid performers. They're versatile enough for casual or more formal occasions. The soles seem good and thick, and they look like they should last a while. The stitching looks good. The shoes fit true to size. The insoles are pretty basic.
