I bought these devices on May 24th and have been experiencing frequent disconnections from the network during use. As of early September, the devices are completely unable to connect to the network, and when plugged in, there are signs of poor contact at the power interface. I have tried reconnecting multiple times without success. Read more

Favorite smart plug thus far

I have tried four or five smart plugs, and this is my favorite thus far. I do wish it only blocked one socket, which is why I give this 4 out of 5 stars. I have had relatively little issues with these plugs, and one held up outside during the polar vortex (we reached -50F windchill, and -16F actual lows, with only a few inches of snow, mostly ice) on my front porch (mostly covered, but open to the air and drifting snow) to work with my porch nutcracker. Other smart plugs have had issues being setup on my network, and this is the only one I haven't had issues. Even when swapping networks, it was relatively easy. I did brick one after giving it its 4th network to connect to in 2 months (I had some issues with a tech guy and had to swap all my passwords and SSIDs). So overall very happy with them, just wish they only blocked one socket though. Read more

1. Difficult to connect if the Wi-Fi SSID is same for 5GHz & 2.4GHz. You may have to turn 5GHz off from router till setup is done. 2. There are 2 blinking modes. For setup the blinking needs to be steady without any pausees. Press the switch for some time to get into this mode. 3. I used Smart Life app from Play store since I already use it for other devices. Tuya app may work as well. Alexa detected the device immediately :) Read more
