This body lotion is made in Japan and contains a lengthy but well-formulated list of ingredients that I've pasted below. As the description claims, this lotion contains squalane for skin barrier repair and a variety of amino acids to nourish the skin. While it contains behenyl alcohol (a hydrating fatty alcohol), it does not contain any drying alcohols. I also like that it's free of essential oils—but of course it does contain added fragrance. I found the fragrance to be predominantly floral with a hint of something peppery or spicy that gave it an exotic note. I did not detect any hint of blueberry or anything fruity, which I'm okay with because fruity fragrances are not my thing. The fragrance is strong but pleasant. The lotion absorbs well and provides good hydration. The only aspect that I don't love is that it contains three different silicones. I'm not completely anti-silicone. The silicones in this lotion help to give it its smooth, silky texture, and they also create a breathable, occlusive layer on the skin that locks in the hydrating power of the lotion's other ingredients. I just find that the silicones make it feel a bit too slippery. Without even looking at the ingredients on my first use, I could tell just by the lotion's texture that it contained silicones. This is not really a negative. For my skin, I simply prefer silicone-free products.
