Effective; half a measure and seoncd rinse reduce tea tree oil scent

We have used this for some years now and continue to find it effective. I suspect those folks who complain about the smell (and/ or the cost) are using too much. We have a twenty-year-old top loader (not one of those water-saving front loaders), and find that one-half the included measuring cup of Demite and a like amount of liquid detergent (using the hottest permitted water for the bedding) and a second rinse work well to clean the dust mite waste from the bedding, leaving little smell. The little remaining odor from the tea tree oil (one of the active ingredients in the Demite) is not objectionable. Read more

I have used this product for years and it really has been a life changer for me. I am super allergic to dust mites and for years had issues with bedding and clothes until I found this product. It does have a strong smell but I have found it goes away with a second washing without it. I am very thankful this product! Does Eliminate Dust Mites on Bedding With a Strong Chemical Smell ! My Main Concern Is The Safety Of The Product ! It Does Contain Many Chemicals Which Does Get Rid Of Dust Mites But May Be A Concern For Humans ! Used This This Product For Two Months Now And Am Satisfied With The Reduction Of Dust Mites But Am Uncertain About Its Safety! Followed Directions For A He Washer Which Is One and Half teaspoons Per Load But I Would Recommend Only One Teaspoon Per Load Due To The Safety Concerns ! Accidentally Dropped A Couple Of Dros On The Top Of My Washer And It Stained The Enamel Paint To the Point I Can’t Get The Stain Out ! I’ll Try Just One Teaspoon And see How that Works !!
