I love these and am glad to know they're biodegradable. They work very well--just as well as plastic ones. I have tight teeth and I have no trouble flossing with these straw wheat picks. The straw wheat has a bit of flexibility and "give" when used as a dental pick, but I've decided this is not necessarily a flaw. I'm gradually replacing as many conventional dental products as possible with biodegradable, non-toxic options. It has been a game-changer.
