Much Needed Matcha

Sadiya syedFebruary 17, 2025

The media could not be loaded. I recently tried this amazing matcha powder, and I'am hooked! The exotic taste and herbs, made from natural ingredients, are game-changer. I purchased it on Amazon, and it's worth every penny. Perfect for Hot or Cold Lattes: I love drinking matcha lattes cold, so I made it with ice - it was incredibly soothing and creamy! I used half cold water and half milk for a healthier option, but you can pour direct milk for a richer taste. It can also be made hot, which adds even more flavor. Highly Recommended: This matcha powder is 100% pure and can be used sparingly - just a teaspoonful is enough for an entire half-pint glass. Plus, it's great for weight loss! I give it 10/10 - a must-try for anyone who loves matcha! Read more

Mediocre matcha

MNSeptember 29, 2025

Matcha was quite bland, doesn’t have the same grassy umami taste you get with other stronger matchas, maybe I didn’t put enough, but I thought 1 heaping tablespoon 6-8 grams was enough… Read more

Really Good Matcha

HappyPandaMay 25, 2025

The ceremonial grade matcha is really good. The matcha flavor is very strong. The color is decent. Usually I would like a more vibrant green color, this is just a tad darker. I mix it into my drinks and whenever I am baking a dessert. Since the matcha flavor is strong, I don't have to use much for the flavor to come through. I also like that the container has a screw on lid which means I won't have to worry about the matcha oxidizing since the screw on lid would keep the matcha sealed. In terms of size, the container fits comfortably in my palm. The matcha isn't too expensive at the price range for ceremonial matcha. Overall, the matcha flavor is strong, it is packaged well and it tastes great. Read more

Very Good Quality Matcha Powder

Savvy ShopperFebruary 1, 2025

I occasionally drink Matcha and this powder is of very good quality. All of the Matcha that I previously used was from Japan but this one is from China. The Matcha is bright green, smells fresh and comes in a sealed aluminum can. The taste of the Matcha is very good whether I mixed it hot or cold. Overall it's a good Matcha powder. Read more

A very fine, very colorful matcha and equal in taste, color & grind to a Japanese Matcha I have.

Customer ReviewJanuary 23, 2025

"Dento-teki Ceremonial Grade matcha powder - Pure, naturally cultivated green tea leaves - Premium quality tea - (50g / 1.75oz) Tin, perfect for tea, latte, smoothies " This Dento-Teki is a Ceremonial grade matcha but it is from China vs. Japan. It is grown in Guizhou. The name sounds more Japanese to me so don't be confused. This is from China. Matcha originated in China but was banned there in the 14th century. I have several had several Japanese matchas and have one in my home now that I will compare this too. One is a very fine Ceremonial Grade grown in Kirisima Japan - one of the two top locations for Japanese Matcha the other being Kyoto prefecture. This matcha Dento-teki compared to "organic matcha" from Kirishima (and it is more pricey) were identical in color to the naked eye. The fineness of the grind also appeared identical . The taste seemed close as well but that is very subjective and I am not an expert matcha/tea tasted. This matcha came in a nice tin (with a nice dent right in the middle of the front of the tin :-( ). It was vacuum sealed and "puffed" out some of the VERY fine matcha the seal was broken. The Expiry is 10/25/2025 which is a mere 10 months vs 18 moths for the other Matcha I have. I can't understand the difference other than this one was produced and on the shelf longer. This has no indication on how or where to store it or shelf life after opening. The OTHER Matcha powder I have says it is best to store in the refrigerator ideally consume within two months or opening. ========================================================================= In evaluating these issues, I found many references to environmental issues in China that gave me pause. The following is the information I discovered when evaluating this matcha: How matcha is grown becomes central to its taste and to the safety of the product just like any product imported to the US. This Dento-teki Matcha is NOT organic. It labeled "NO PIGMENT, NO ESSENCE, NO PRESERVATIVES." There are concerns with matcha grown in China growth in potentially contaminated soils with such thing as lead. These would not normally lech out of tea from brewing it but matcha is ground and consumed completely. Not all Japanese Matcha is organic, in fact, according to mainstream sources, only 1% is organic. Non-organic matcha is grown using pesticides and fertilizers just as in China. For it to be labeled as organic in or from China requires the following: "To qualify for a Chinese organic label, a product must comply with the China Organic Standard (GB/T 19630), which requires the entire supply chain, from raw materials to finished products, to be certified organic, meaning all production practices must adhere to the standard, including a conversion period from conventional farming to organic, and must undergo inspections by a certified body before being labeled as organic; the label will typically include a unique QR code for traceability purposes. " The question comes up as to why it does not qualify as organic. Since it is eaten in its entirety, this becomes an big question and concern. "In 2006 was China criticized by the European Union, USA and Canada when it was found out that 32 % of samples of Chinese green teas exceeded the limit of 2 micrograms of toxins per teaspoon. Neither of the tested Japanese teas exceeded this limit. In 2013, Green peace organisation randomly tested 18 random samples of various Chinese teas and discovered that 12 of them contained pesticides ‒ including methomyl and endosulfan ‒ which are strictly banned by the Stockholm treaty." This information is readily available online and from credible sources. You should do your own research and make your own decisions. I do not have the capability to do such analysis on tea but would keep an eye out for more testing by international organizations. In fact, contacting the company for their analysis of the matcha wouldn't a bad idea. On the other hand, the other matcha I have at the moment is identified as Organic which has very specific requirements in Japan as in the US. China has the same type of requirements: For Japanese Matcha (or other food items) there is a similar standard just as there is in the US. Read more

great

This is a great option for matcha powder. The quality is great — it’s very fine, rich, vibrant, and has a smooth, earthy flavor that makes every cup feel like a treat. It mixes incredibly well, whether I’m making traditional tea, lattes, or smoothies. The 50g tin is a great size, and I love that it stores well in the freezer, keeping it fresh for longer. If you're looking for premium matcha that elevates your daily routine, this is definitely the one to try! Read more

Very fine grind, mixes well with no grittyness

Jenne BrooksJanuary 5, 2025

I don't usually drink matcha as traditional tea, but rather use it in recipes and other drinks like matcha lattes and such. My roommate is a tea lover, and he does drink a lot of green tea and some matcha plain. This powder, to me, dissolved and mixed easily, has a rich green color, and pleasant green tea fragrance. The taste seems to have more bitterness than other matcha powders I've used, however, my roommate says that's typical of a good matcha and that this one tastes good to him. For using in recipes, this tea has a vivid, fresh green color and would be visually pleasing in recipes. There wouldn't be much grittiness either. The bitterness may require a little extra sweetener to balance it out. It comes packaged in a tin so you don't have to transfer it when you open it. The tea is made in china, which I prefer over Japanese-style teas. It is a generous amount of green tea, and rather concentrated flavor-wise. Read more
