As a person who has only tried derma rollers thus far, I love this derma stamp tool. Why? Because you can change the length of the needles from 0-3.0mm. I was able to use 0.75mm on my face, then increase to 1.5mm+ for my scalp in the same session. It’s much nicer than having to use multiple tools. Also as I was stamping my scalp I noticed that there were some areas that needed a longer needle because hair was in the way. So the versatility really helps. I thought it was going to be annoying to have to stamp each area but it wasn’t. It’s easy to keep track of where you’ve been and to apply the right amount of force. My skin was glowing after first use (little holes = circulation) which was not unexpected. Time will tell for longer term results but so far it seems effective. The needles feel sharp but not painful if you pick the right setting for the area you’re working on. The handle is easy to hold. The quality seems good. However, if you’re going for a non flat or small area, might be hard to get to with the flat surface. The needles on lower settings like 0.5mm or less seem like they don’t poke out at all so it might be a little off but you can still get what you need it to be with the adjustment. Also because of the holes for the needles, if you’re soaking the tool in alcohol, make sure you shake off any residual liquid that might have gotten sucked in there before letting it dry. Read more
I could spend a fortune on salon/dermatology appointments for my aging skin but I've decided to take the at-home route first to see what I can do on my own. I had read about microneedling and honestly, was a bit apprehensive as I am not the biggest fan of needles. The research seemed promising, so I decided to at least give it a try. I decided to start at just .5 as recommended on the videos I watched online. I had my lidocaine handy just in case it was too uncomfortable. I cleaned my skin and the instrument with rubbing alcohol first as recommended. First of all, absolutely painless! Maybe it will become more uncomfortable as I move up the depth, but for now, easy peasy! The instrument is simple to use and the process is very quick. I'm eager to see how this impacts the appearance of my skin over time. This seems to be a quality product. It offers a wide range of needle depth to accommodate whatever level your skin is at. I grabbed this to use with Rogaine foam and have been running it at 0.5mm. Once you figure out your pattern, the stamping motion is simple enough, but it takes a bit of practice to get even coverage without pressing too hard. It’s small and light, so it’s easy to maneuver around the crown and hairline without catching hairs. The build feels decent for the price, and it’s easy to clean with alcohol afterward. Certainly cheaper than going to the dermatologist for a similar treatment. I wouldn’t call it fancy, but it’s sturdy enough to last through consistent use. The main thing is to go slow, keep everything sanitized, and give the scalp a chance to calm down before applying anything else. Too soon to say if it’s speeding up results as Rogaine isn’t exactly a quick process, but I'm hopeful. As a microneedle tool it seems great and being adjustable is great. I am a fan of microneedling for skin care. This device has pros and cons. It seems to be well made and sturdy. It has a nice control for needle depth from 0-3mm. The stamping head is 3cm X 2.25cm and is better suited for larger or flatter areas than the face. It would be well suited for treating stretch marks. It require hand pressure to penetrate the skin and leave the potential for bruising and other injuries. It gives instructions for cleaning for reuse, but the design could harbor bacteria and lead to infection. Needles dull quickly with use and dull needles can tear the skin. If one is planning to use it one time for a large area, it would be fine. I would not endorse selecting this as a reusable item. Read more
This is a very functional tool, and can be adjusted for use. It comes at a very reasonable cost and is easy to use. I do bring caution, as you can hurt yourself if you do not use this thing properly, and I mean really badly. If you feel pain, ease up, but more importantly seek out some expertise on how to properly use this.
