Great Product

I had really liked this cologne since my college days but wasn't thrilled with some of the newer versions. I really wanted the original formula. I finally received exactly what was advertised. Thanks. Read more

Needs to be opened, used and aged

Even the original formula must need to breath like a wine when first opened., Smell is there, but thinner than my old bottle which I still have. Same is true with my Aramis, Halston Z14 and my French import Roches. All new ones come with mister spray instead of pour spouts, so I just put more on. But they do seem to get stronger with age once opened, Suggest keeping your old bottle in back and use new one first to start aging and making sure. Otherwise you might keep your old one with a little in to sniff as a memory Read more

Good for older and younger men alike.

Makes me feel twenty years younger with every spray. After all of the years on the market, Aramis still is a leader. Read more

ORIGINAL Devin - the best of the best of mens colognes!

I have been wearing Devin by Aramis since the mid-70's. This original formula, which you can recognize on-line by the rectangular bottle shape and 3.7oz size, was clearly the best of the best of men's colognes. Others have tried to describe its awesome scent; I won't even try because the words do not do it justice. Unfortunately, some time in the last decade or so, Aramis changed formulations. The result is a scent far less impressionable, far less desirable. This "new" one leaves no more lasting impression on others than all the other cheap men's colognes. Yes, it smells nice, but not anywhere near as great as the original and certainly not as impressive enough. The difference is so much that the "new" version should really be given its own brand name; it's not the original Devin. As an aside, I tried contacting Aramis (via Estee Lauder who owns it now) and could get nothing back from them but cryptic replies. For example, I asked if they still produce the original Devin. Their reply wasn't a "yes" or "no", but rather the more generic "you can find our products at authorized retailers" - as if I know who their authorized retailers are. I also told them I occasionally could find the original for sale at various websites and wanted to know if they had some excess stock stored away somewhere. Their reply was "what you can buy at our authorized retailers is what is available". Huh? So where are all these "old" bottles coming from? If not Aramis, then where? Bottom line, Estee Lauder probably has the worst on-line customer service department in the entire universe. You cannot get a straight answer from them, and even worse, if they paid attention to the various on-line reviews of the original formula, would know they made a major mistake when they discontinued it and replaced it with a watered-down version of some other brand. Too bad for us, and too bad for them for making such a bone-headed mistake. They should learn from Coke: bring back the original version when the customers want it. Read more
