^^^^^^^ See what I did there? :-) I purchased this in 2017. Just over a year later, the grating face broke from the handle/frame. The Di Oro team quickly replaced it for free. The 2nd one lasted 3 years with average use. They promptly replaced it again, no hassle, just an email. I don't know of many companies that stand behind their products like that. Bravo! The grater itself works very well, and is very sharp! Will be purchasing more Di Oro products with lifetime warranties as the need arises. Read more

So we're always on the lookout for good cheese graters. This Di Oro grater is "grate" to use. The red protective sleeve holds it firmly on the plate while you grate the cheese onto it. It is sharp so it grates quite quickly and finely. Much more easily than our old graters. It cleans up reasonably quickly like all graters. We hang it with our long spoons, serving forks and ladles. We can recommend this product. Read more

Great length. Feels sturdy in your hand. Fine in the dishwasher. All around a great item and I would buy again*. It looks great and feels good to the touch. It cleans up well. If you're just looking for a Zester/Grater and don't care if it matches anything else, this is a good buy. But what I want is a FULL set that matches. After buying spoons, tongs, zester and spatulas (at a hefty total price), I forgot about (and didn't think to look for) the Pasta Spoon. Doesn't look like they have one... Had to buy one that looks 'close' from a competitor. So now I have a BEAUTIFUL DI ORO set, with the 'odd man out' pasta spoon. Kinda ruins the look. I guess the pasta spoon goes in the drawer for now? Had I known earlier, I might have bought from a brand that has everything, so I don't have to hide something. Read more

*Update: I've noticed that sometimes food will "catch" a little on the teeth instead of just smooth grating. It's sharp, so I suspect it's because of the spacing of the teeth. I've been noticing it a lot with cloves of garlic and slightly dried out lemons.* The grater is super sharp and will do its job very effectively. The little teeth are farther apart and a little bigger than some of the others I've owned, but it seems to do the same great (ha!) job with nutmeg and ginger as well as with bigger things. I was worried because the grater size seems to be larger than a zester, but everything grates down nice and fine. I don't need the little rubber stopper thing at the end since I usually use a bowl, but I can see how some people might like it. The backside is smooth all the way to the end, so no weird nooks for food to get stuck. Also, it comes in a beautiful box that's perfect for wrapping. The one quibble I have is that the protective plastic lid/cover has two large holes in the face. All my other zesters have slide-off covers so when I slid this one off I shaved off just a tiny bit of skin with it. (It's VERY sharp!) The teeth are exposed at the holes so I have to be careful whenever I reach into that drawer. The cap just snaps on and off, so once you're aware you're fine. Still, it would be better if the cover didn't have holes in it. Other than that, I love it! Read more

I purchased this grater for myself a few years ago. I love how sharp it is and is easy to grate anything. I decided to purchase one for my daughter because she had used mine and wanted to know the brand name. DI ORO provides a excellent product and it is well worth the money. Read more

With careful use and storage this will be the greatest thing since...shredded cheese. It is extremely sharp (as in you will shave your fingers if you aren't practicing careful cutlery). This is a positive because it means very easy work and finely shredded cheese. Make sure you keep the cover and use it when in storage to avoid and drawer accidents. I've heard some people complain that they cut themselves on it. It's true. I've don it too, but it comes down to careful use. Don't blame the tool for improper use. If you hold the grater and your shreddable material carefully (as in don't try and get the very last bits) then you'll have a great experience. The handle is well shaped and easy to grip and the frame of the shredder is strong and durable plus has a rest for shredding downwards. A very well designed shredder. We have washed it in the dishwasher numerous times and it's always held up very well. We've been through several shredders but this one is definitely the best. Highly recommend this product. The grater blade is very sharp and they are much wider so the grated pieces come out much bigger which is what I wanted. I use this to grate ginger for India masala chai. Because it is so sharp, I have to be extra careful because I know my chai will not taste good with some skin in it. Two issues: - I left it in the stove with the top touching the bottom of the pan, and it melted a bit. So the rubber end is not very heat resistant,. Prior to this, I ordered https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079BR5CH6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which has a much harder and heat restistant rubber end. The reason I did not buy the same one again was because the other one grates too fine and I wanted bigger flakes. - The metal portion came loose from the handle and I had to push it hard for it to go back in and stay. It is a good grater but I gave 3 stars for these 2 reasons. Read more
