I remember I lost a lot of weight in high school and grew 5 inches from mid 14 til 17. Had to get some new pants. I walked around the corner and saw "Dickies" brand that they're so tough. I bought 6 pairs, 1 for mon, then Tuesday, and so on til 5 I took the extra pair and ran out in the woods trying to get the puncture or tear to tell me if they were good. I got back that nice and took a look and some grass and mud stains, but after cleaning they are great even felt "broke in" . So now I do that process to break the denim in and they feel wonderful. They iron well, tear resistant, cut resistant, it's a really special pair of slacks, or if you're into the shorts they're lovely as well. I whole heatedly believe that dickies products are built for men. I'm getting 5 new pairs of 13" shorts for myself. They're especially great for anything outdoors. I have to give these 4/5 because they are very well made and look great. I imagine they're pretty durable as well. However, these "flex" pants do not flex *in the least.* Not a single square inch of these stretches in any direction. I've gotta return them, and I'm a bit sad because I think if they had at least *some* give, they'd be exactly what I'm looking for. Read more

I like the slanted, ample front pocket openings. Good fit, good spacing and size on the belt loops and ample fit through the thighs. Ordered 3 pairs so far for casual work pants. Very happy with these pants. I use a Groove Belt which is just a tad shy of 1.5" in width. In these, it slides in the loops easily. In the 874s (the NON flex), it is very tight. It fits, but takes a little more aligning and pushing through, at each loop. No problems once it's on, but just a slight difference a buyer should be aware of. If your belt is wider than 1.5", or even a thick leather belt of similar size, you may have trouble getting it through the loops in the regular 874. Be sure to order the 874F (flex). I should have read the reviews before buying because the waist size is smaller than what is said on the label. I initiated a return but I have been on a diet and exercise program and they now fit. Still a little snug but not too bad. They are very well made and are durable for my kind of work. I got lots of compliments on them at work. Read more
