This Hello Kitty and Friends lip gloss comes in a pack of 7 different colors and scents (I think by "flavoured", they mean "scented"). The inside of each tube is a twist of 2 opaque pearlescent colors, surrounded by a clear gel full of iridescent blue-green glitter. When applied, the scent is very faint, with no taste, and there is no obvious tint or glitter to my lips, but I have medium brown skin tone. I only need a very small amount, which smoothes out easily, looks glossy, and it doesn't feel too heavy. The top ingredients are olive oil, rice bran oil, and jojoba oil, so I expect it is nourishing for chapped lips. It still has some other ingredients and artificial colorings, so be aware of that. My niece loves copying her mom when she puts on makeup but all of us are reluctant to let her use too many adult products. I’m definitely in the camp where I think it’s very normal for little girls to want to play with makeup and it should be allowed but I do worry about some ingredients being too harsh for young skin or reinforcing the message that you need to be fully made up to be beautiful. This type of product is perfect for threading that needle. The glosses are very visually appealing with the bright colors and Hello Kitty characters on the tubes. The swirl of color in the middle is extra fun and makes it look more special than a solid color. All of them have a different scent too! I also like how these feel very age appropriate instead of letting her get sucked into chasing “luxury” or other adult brands and what not that are popular on TikTok. Despite how vibrant they appear in the tube, the color payoff is pretty subtle. It’s still nice and shiny though so your kid will still feel like they’re wearing makeup. Looking at the ingredients, I didn’t note anything of concern. Plant based is one of those nice to have but not super important to me things but non-toxic is essential. Let’s be real, while my niece is old enough now that I’m not worried about her chowing down on these, some small kids will absolutely eat makeup if you turn your back for 20 seconds. This set is a good value too. 7 tubes will go a long way in filling up the caboodle I got her last year for makeup storage or for her to share with friends.
