Cut for less curvy builds

Ally online shopperDecember 10, 2025

These pants are trendy dress pants with a pentuck seam in the front, a mid-rise at the waist, and flared bottoms. The material feels High quality, it is a good thickness for dress pants, not super thick like wool pants, but also thicker than the cheap ones that make you feel so exposed. There are pockets in the front one on each hip and pockets in the back one on each side. As far as fit, I would say that these are a typical fit. I am a size 6, however my dimensions are a little bit tricky. I have a naturally small waist but then Fuller rear , thighs, and hips. That means a lot of times I'm needing to size up so that it properly fits me in the thighs and hips, but then I end up with huge gaps in the waist. I really have a difficult time finding things that fit me, and have to stick with specific cuts and styles. These pants I would say are somewhat close to fitting me. The way isn't gaping in the back. The thighs aren't too tight. I'm average height, 56, and these do seem a bit long in the inseam, but would be a really good length if I wore High heels. Of course , length is an easy tailoring to do, and high quality clothes will often make the inseam a little bit on the longer side to allow for being able to fit a wider range of customers. However, the pockets at the hips are unsightly the way that they pop open. The pockets are cut at an angle, so naturally if there's a bit of tension in the hips they won't want to open up to allow some easement. I really think of these pants are high quality dress pants, it's just a matter of if they are cut to suit your body shape. Which honestly that has nothing to do with these pants themselves but just the nature of off the rack clothes that don't have a lot of forgiveness in them. Read more

True to size and high quality.

These pants are comfortable and fit true to size. They look business, stylish, and sleek all at the same time. Though I intend to use these in a more formal setting, I think it can work with semi-casual outfits just fine. The quality is exactly what you'd expect from DKNY. Highly recommend for anyone looking to up their business forward wardrobes. Read more

These are made for someone slim and tall, not for curves or those who like back pockets.

YothsothgothDecember 24, 2025

I am 5’2” and the inseam is terribly long, so one issue I have is that I’ll have to hem them up before I can wear them to work. Also, the back pockets are completely sewn shut which is strange considering the material is already there. They didn’t even bother with a full hem inside the pocket either (on the inside of pant), which was surprising. I feel that these are basically made for someone slim and tall and not so much for someone with fuller hips or thighs like myself – at least they’re not as flattering on me as I’d like them to be. They pretty much go with everything that I have for work though. Other than their extreme length and they’re a bit on the pricier side for me on suit pants, these are still very nice pants. I see them as an investment because I have no question about their overall quality and being able to wear these for a very long time. Read more

Limited functionality and comfort, false pockets, overpriced

Cell PhoneNovember 23, 2025

This DKNY Women's Pintuck Mid-Rise Flare Leg Suit Pant size 4, Black, is the most expensive pair of pants I've ever owned in my life. I have a long history of buying DKNY, but I used to be able to regularly get items in NYC on discount, so I never paid more than about $25 for a shirt or pants, or maybe double that for jackets or shoes. Although the style was always a little boring, they seemed well worth that for basic interchangeable work wear that had decent durability and stitching, and wardrobe staples that allowed one to be taken seriously in a high-paced environment, and then go out to a dress-casual event after work without having to change. Although I often had the finances to spend more on these staples, I never saw a reason to. So my prior experiences of DKNY had been positive - although from a while ago - and I jumped at the chance to order these. For the price, I was expecting these to be the best pair of pants I've ever owned by a long shot. But... they're not. They're nice. They're adequate. They're decently cut, and have a nice lightweight thin material, which would be good for a warm weather work outfit. Better if they came in a wide range of colors. But at this point in time, I do expect 2 things in mass produced women's clothes: functional pockets, and appropriate elasticity. These are a size 4. I fit them fine. At points they will be too loose on me, at points they will be too tight. But there is not much stretch in the material, and the very place most needed - at the waistband - there is no stretch at all! What in the world are they thinking? I have owed endless pairs of pants for a fraction of the price, that look basically like this (but with cheaper material, that are far more comfortable for all day wear)! Most women of working age inherently will fluctuate sizes throughout the month. It is unreasonable at this point in history, to make any clothes meant to be used daily, that do not have any give, and to expect women to own multiple sizes of clothing to accommodate natural changes in a month, or due to holiday eating, or medchanges, or whatever. We have technology well beyond this point. So to me these are made with inherent lack of functionality, and versatility. Moreover, the pockets are too shallow, and the ones in the back are sewn shut! Why in the world would I pay this kind of price for a basic black pair of pants, that for 1/3 the price could easily be more functional, hold the things I actually need to carry like my phone, as well as be comfortable for resting my hands, and fit comfortably to my body - rather than forcing my body to fit around IT? Also, women come in a huge diversity of body types and shapes, and having some stretch allows for a much wider range of people to be flattered by a decent cut of clothing, regardless of their individual proportions. Are we not past all this as a species by now? This seems extremely retro, not in the cute way. A note that I am an hourglass shape, and about 5'5. These are too long on me, but I do favor tall chunk shoes and boots, so these will work well without hemming because sometimes I like those shoes to be somewhat covered up - I just find them comfortable for my foot shape and to be sturdy with the chunk to walk in all day, but am not trying to make much of a statement at work with them. But these will fit best for someone who is maybe 5'6 or 5'7, who has a straight shape and not a lot of curves. They do not seem at all made for women who fit into the thicc category, so the potential clientele will be limited. FYI, the price tag this came with said "$89," which made me laugh. They are made in Vietnam, of rayon, recycled polyester, and spandex. So the markup on these is...1000%? Fast fashion, while terrible for the world at large, offers the same thing but more comfortable, for a fraction of the price. The difference is, these are better stitched than some of those, and with a more comfortable and durable material, I would expect them to have more longevity. But the drawback is, that means being uncomfortable with no usable pockets, for multiple years. I think instead I'll choose a fair wage product, that easily accommodates my naturally fluctuating body, and item-carrying needs. Potentially in a more breathable fabric. Read more
