* I apologize for the bad lighting of my pictures. In kind, I regret having not presented the vest in a more flattering form as my images are sloppy, at best. Also, I accidentally hung it next to a fuzzy sweater so any blemishes are the fault of fuzzy-wuzzies. The vest is actually pristine, with no snags or oddities of any kind. I can assure you that it has structure and doesn’t not looked ill-formed when on. I’m just to chicken to be in the pictures.* This sleeveless crew neck style suit vest is so on trend right now. It’s definitely a staple piece worth investing in. Unlike everything else lately, the suit vest IS NOT cropped! For me, this is one of the main things I require when purchasing business clothes. Seriously, why in the world would I show my belly button to my co-workers?!? Honestly, I do wonder where all the women who are buying the super cropped or sheer business clothes are employed. How is HR not all over this trend? Really, someone has to be purchasing these styles, especially since brands like Express, Banana Republic, and more are constantly releasing them, right? Well, I don’t work in a start-up or co-op for the kool kids - I’m a 45 yr old career woman who is ever grateful to DKNY for continuing to understand what business workwear for a real woman should look like! The vest maintains a sense of professional decorum without sacrificing modern design aesthetics. Also, it turns out this suit vest is a lot less expensive than the offerings from the aforementioned brands. And just because it cost less doesn’t mean it’s not a solid piece. It’s fully lined, with a double-breasted asymmetrical buttoned closure. You can wear alone coupled with myriad staples, be it skirts, pants, etc. The vest also pairs well with a long-sleeved blouse for the cooler months. Again, this is very nice staple piece you’ll be able to wear for years, or at least until the next major style switch up. The fabric is dense, not thin, holds its shape, but at the same time has a slight stretch and feels comfortable to wear. The asymmetrical cut is the real highlight. It instantly gives a smart, polished look, as if it’s part of a high-end suit. The stitching is neat: the buttonholes are even, no loose threads, and the buttons are sewn on securely. The lining is smooth, nothing sticks out or bunches. The back also has a beautiful silhouette — it looks slim and pulled-together. It fit perfectly, with no pulling in the shoulders or under the arms. You can wear it with a thin top or over a shirt. The color is a deep black, not grayish or faded. Sleep, sharp, smart look to this piece. It's a nice clean-cut vest that I think would look good paired with more black, but also it's got a nice neutral but professional vibe that you can pair it with a lot of things. The little bit of spandex in the blend goes a long way, and I'd say the 14 is a good true-to-size fit. It's just stretchy enough that you get a nice form-fitting feeling without it going too tight. I'd say the synthetic blend is not as breathable as a natural fabric would be, but it's not scratchy at all, feels pretty good. Read more

This DKNY sleeveless suit vest I am quite pleased with. The fit is true to size — I ordered my usual size 4 and I was concerned that it would fit too tight, but it actually fits just right. The material feels nice and has a polished, slightly structured look that works well for the office. Wear it with tailored trousers and it transitions from desk-to-dinner nicely. This is a true to size vest. I got size 14. And this fits like a size 14. A little tight. But great looking none the less. Being that this is a DKNY vest, the quality proves to stand up to the name. The material is not stiff. But it is nice. Very businessy looking vest. It is a versatile vest. There is at least three different ways to wear this vest. One is open.
