The shoes are well made for the price and are comfortable to wear but I changed the insole to a gel insert that makes them even more comfortable. Read more

Perfect fit (never let it be said sizes have changed, you just have to pay for the 'same old sizes'). Good leather construction (pig skin, actually - a far better shoe leather than cowhide leather, it's tougher). Just the right amount of 'collar padding' (not a sloshy pillow, not a raw piece of single leather either, but a good, solid collar that's comfortable!). Not crazy about the top 'speedlace eye', but really, no big deal. A real Goodyear welt with solid stitching, and no 'pleather' lurking anywhere! Great job Dockers! As for that 'soles wear out in 3-months' thing? Live with it, crepe-soles are designed to be shock-absorbing, soft, comfortable.who really wants a polyurethane 'Vibram-type' sole on a daily walking shoe? Yes, the soles wear out quickly, but ALL CREPE SOLES do! Buy the shoe, for the shoe, and find a decent shoe-repair (aka Cobbler) store that can replace the soles for you when they do wear out (my local guy charges $24 to put new crepe soles on). Too hard to find decent shoes today anyhow! Read more
I purchased my first pair of Dockers Glacial Oxfords more than 15-years ago, when it was available from a nationally known major Dept store. I bought a pair every year, the first couple of years, and then transitioned to buying 2 pair when they were on sale. I had to, because these are arguably the best shoe I've ever owned, and I wear them almost everyday. The shoes are very comfortable to wear, and their soles are made for walking on every street surface imaginable. Here in NYC, that's important. The soles of the shoes are thick, but not heavy. I have found that these shoes protect my feet when I'm walking on uneven pavement & sidewalk cracks, or over even over small objects likes pebbles. Best of all, they are great to wear in the summer when the sidewalks are blistering hot, or cold as ice in the winter. Your feet won't know the difference. In a casual setting, these shoes are definitely good looking. Resoling these shoes are not a cost-effective option, which is why I buy 2 pair when they're on sale. I highly recommend these Dockers shoes, because in my opinion, they are "the best shoes ever"! Read more
I have purchased Dockers many times in the past and they lasted and were well made. Not sure what happened with this purchase but the shoes had no cushion in the tongue or heal areas. This made them feel like wearing just a strap of leather on your feet. Very uncomfortable when walking. Perhaps it was just a bad batch but I cannot recommend them. Read more
