This ball comes with an inflator that has a pin needle for inflation. It is relatively easy to insert once you find the opening in the ball (hint near the black strap). The ball does not inflate "hard" like a soccer ball because there is a lot of air loss around the pin. It inflates well enough for the dogs to play with it. In our household this will be a supervision only toy as we have dogs that will chew through straps. They do seem to like and use the little straps to pick it up and run around with it. This ball is a hit !! Our pup has loved playing with it since it arrived. The tabs on it are a great feature for the dog to hold onto it. She likes to whip it around as she holds it, throw it and run after it. She likes playing with it while I’m involved throwing or kicking it, and she likes playing by herself with it. It’s neat that it’s versatile that way. She’s been playing heavily with it for a few months and it has held up very well. The tabs she was able to chew through, but she’s still easily able to hold onto the fabric. It was easy to fill with air and came with a hand held air pump. The ball stayed fully inflated for months and was easily reinflated by the included pump. Overall, it’s a great option for your dog because it’s unique, durable and fun. I would recommend! Read more

My 2 medium/large dogs (see below for their info) LOVE this toy. It's smaller than a real soccer ball (I'm pretty sure) but not by much. Without the nylon straps, they would have popped it in 2 seconds. But the straps definitely keep them entertained. They chase the ball, then grab the straps to throw it or shake it. The straps are very durable in that regard. However, my super chewer dog hunkered down with the ball and chewed 5 of the straps off before we knew what she was doing. We took it away from her, but she had become so obsessed with it that we had to hide it in the refrigerator. We bring it out on special occasions when we can play with her and keep her from pinning it down to eat it. The ball itself is still inflated and in good shape. I'll probably buy a new one every few months, because it's so much fun and different from our other toys. I'm still giving it 5 stars, because they love it and it held up exactly as I would expect it to under our conditions. About my dogs: We have 3 adult dogs: a 50 lb. malinois/staffy mix, a 45 lb. pittie mix, and a 20 lb. chihuahua mix. Read more
