My dog looks so cute in that pink birthday hat and bandana that I may reuse them for years to come. I like that it includes numbers 1 to 8 and 10, but I don’t know why number 9 is missing. Even though the hat has a thin white fabric elastic, my dog was comfortable wearing it. My dog’s neck measures about 17 inches, and I barely had enough fabric to tie a knot, so dogs with bigger necks may need some kind of extension. The hat's color is soft pink, and it's made of a felt-like material. The numbers have gold glitter on them. The bandana feels like polyester and seems washable. The listing states the bandana is 25.6 inches in length by 16.9. It is not, it's 23.1 x 15.9. It's noticeably smaller than every dog bandana I own (about 2 dozen). The listing states the set will fit large, medium and small dogs and that just won't work with a bandana this size. My dog is 65 pounds and while I can slip it over her head, it's a safety issue as it's too tight to wear comfortably, even with a tiny knot set at the very ends. I'd say this size bandana is intended for small to medium small dogs. The bandana is polyester, thin, soft and baby pink. It has a pattern of confetti with the phrase "it's my birthday!" in bright colors. The backside is plain white. The party hat is really small too, just a little over 4 inches across. I had seen the dimensions online and knew it would be just a little cone perched on her head but I thought that may help it stay in place better. Usually the party hats are too big and slide around or fall off. But this hat is too soft to have much shape and especially once there's tension on the strap the hat can't stay upright very well. It's felt fabric so I couldn't get it to keep a stable cone shape, it kept falling over flat on her head or collapsing in on itself. There is a chin strap, but it's just a length of elastic and isn't adjustable. You could take some slack out of it by making a small knot at the ends but you can't make the strap longer. The hat is the same baby pink as the bandana with a short pom-pom hem and a small star on top front only. The numbers you can place on the hat are a nice touch though, in that you can customize it for your dog's age even if they're turning say 4 or 7 years old (as opposed to a lot of pre-marked party hats that are set at milestones like 5 and 10.) The numbers are sparkly gold and bright. All and all I was disappointed in this set because despite my high hopes based on the listing, the quality isn't great and it doesn't fit my good girl. After 6 months I can donate things I don't want, so this will go into my bin for my local dog shelter, maybe it will make some little girl happy. If you have a large or XL dog, the set is too small and you'd need to look elsewhere. And while this wasn't a good value for us, this could work if you have a small breed, but don't expect too much from the hat! Read more
