This, I suspect, is the best bed my dog has ever had. So glad I bought it! My Woody is 60 lbs, a Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix that likes to stretch out, so I got him the XL bed. It's perfect for him. I arrived rolled up tight in a small box and my first thought was that it would take forever to 'fluff up', but it was very quick - well under the 2 hrs minimum that was noted in the paperwork. It came with 3 covers - an inner, waterproof liner and 2 outer covers so that you have an extra while one is in the wash. Everything looks to be well-made and sturdy. The outer covers are soft and comfy and the seams are well done. It was easy to get the liner and cover on, despite the size of the mattress, but I'm glad I didn't wait until it was fully fluffed to put them on because now they're snug. The waterproof liner is kind of slick, which makes it easier for the outer cover to slide on. Smart idea! The mattress pad itself is a thick, gel foam that is firm, but also soft enough to feel good on his old, arthritic body. I don't think it will flatten out as it's made from the same thing my bed is made from and it's got a 25 yr warranty. He's been on it almost 100% of the time since it arrived yesterday. His other bed was a thick, egg-crate foam that was starting to flatten, so he was clearly getting uncomfortable on it as he was up and down all day. He's a happy boy! :) Despite not knowing how long it will last or how it will wash, I believe it will last a long time, based on all the good features I've described. I bought two of these almost 7 years ago for my German Shepherd sisters 🐶💖🐶 Ironically, I actually paid a little over $7 *more* each back then than today’s price, but they are worth every penny! 🙌🏼 I am only just now here to buy an extra cover for each bed and extra waterproof inner cover…only because while washing the outer covers and not keeping an eye on my girls, each punctured the inner cover while the outer one was off. I have since just flipped the punctured side(s) over, but it doesn’t hurt to have extra anyway. The beds themselves hold up super well! One of my girls is 80 pounds and her sister is about 70 pounds. They have used these beds everyday in 7 of their 7 1/2 years of life and the inner mattress is still perfectly fine. I got one of these as a second bed for when I was cleaning the other bed for my senior corgi (15 years old at the time) who got a little messy from time to time due to her age. I have now replaced the beds for my other dog as well with one of these. Couple of key things about this bed. The cover system is perfect. There is a nylon interior cover that goes over the memory foam. It's kind of a pain to put on, but you really only have to do this once since the outer cover is waterproof and washes up nicely in the laundry. What's really amazing is that replacing the outer cover takes about 10 seconds because the cover does not stick to the rubber mattress (which is encased in the interior nylon cover). If you have ever used one of the normal egg-crate foam rubber dog beds, you know that once you have laundered the cover and it is time to put it back on the mattress, it's a hassle trying to stuff the mattress into the cover, and you are likely to eventually rip out a zipper because the quality of the covers are never very good. That is not an issue at all with this bed. Also, the bed comes with a pair of outer covers, so that you can immediately swap out the cover with a fresh one while you are laundering the dirty one. Most importantly, dogs love these beds and the quality of construction is well worth the price (and the saving of time replacing the covers when washed). Read more

We had 2 elderly labs who could no longer always control their bladders. We wasted money on beds that claimed to be ‘waterproof’ but their pee would still get through to the padding and make the beds and the house smell so bad. However, these beds really are waterproof!!!! They have a top cover that is easy to remove and wash, and underneath there is a totally waterproof cover (which is also washable) which stops the pee from getting through to the memory foam. The memory foam also provided great support for our dogs (we found some beds didn’t have enough cushioning for them as they were so large/heavy). The product is also very durable…2.5 years later and the beds are still in great shape. Once of our labs has since passed away but our new puppy (pictured) as well as our 2 other dogs love laying on them too!
