Sometimes it is hard to find a treat that is perfect for little puppies but she found this to not only be tasty but easy to chew. Being a puppy, I am sure that this kept her busy longer than it would an adult dog but I would think it would still be a treat that keeps them occupied for a few minutes. I could instantly smell and see the refreshing mint backed into the treat. The smell was appealing to her and had lasting effect to those stinky breath moments...lol When looking for treats for my dog, it is always important to me (especially with a growing and developing pup) that their treats are made of real and wholesome ingredients. On the packaging it says small dogs can have a half treat per day, but my dogs are much smaller, so we tear it in half, and then cut that in half so it is perfect. The smell is kind of minty, but these are the only minty smelling treats my dogs will accept so they must not taste bad. They understand the "do you want a dental?" question, since we have been buying these forever. The media could not be loaded. Pun intended with the title of this. Okay, dogs... dog's breath... Yuck, right? Yep. One of mine though has really, really bad breath. Their vet says there is nothing wrong as in bacteria, gingivitis, cavities, etc when I take them in for their annual dental exam and cleaning. A week later, back to being vomit inducing. Sigh. I have tried various natural dental treats for dogs through the years and so far, these dental jerky treats by DogsWell surpass my expectations. Natural ingredients and USA sourced chicken (so no hormones added) is the very first ingredient in their chicken jerky recipe. Coconut Oil, Parsley (what give them the fresh breath), spearmint oil, and dried seaweed (which adds to the mineral and vitamin content of these). They thoroughly enjoy this daily treat which I have replaced their "empty" treats with because not only are these dental treats, but pack a punch in the protein department with crude protein at 35% and crude fat at 25%. Too many treats isn't good for fur babies anyways especially my old lady who could use to lose a couple pounds LOL Love the size of these jerky pieces, didn't need to break them into smaller portions. I do recommend doing that if you have small or tiny fur babies. So far have had zero issues with their digestion and no changes to their bathroom moments (or consistency in this case). Mr Monty The Picky (eater) gets one of these when he finishes his bowl as a reward, treat, and dental aid. He is head over heels in love with these treats, his picky self dissolves and evaporates the minute that he hears the bag open, even if he is on the third floor (these are on the first floor), all 60 lbs of himself hurtles down the stairs at break neck speed for treats, treats, treats. I am so glad I found these, he adores them, they do have some dental value, the size is perfect for breaking in half for the smaller dogs, and he does look forward to them and has cleaned out his food bowl more often than not knowing he will get one of these as a treat if he finishes his dinner bowl.
