I am a dress, skirt or shorts kind of gal. Despite my preference, there are times when pants or slacks are most appropriate to wear. The style of these high waisted and wide leg pants have many like features and looks of a skirt which probably drew my attention to these uniquely designed slacks. These pants are shorter than the standard jean or slack. The hem hits above the ankles. You can see that this design is deliberate and the garment is not ill fitting or outgrown "high-rise" pants. The delicate and feminine eyelet scalloped hem at the bottom of the legs is easily my favorite part of this garment. This type of fabric cut out is most often found in dresses and skirts. It is a nice and unexpected look for a pair of casual pants. There are two pockets are either side which are especially deep allowing for easy and secure storage of an ID, lipstick, keys, and/or debit/credit card if you do not wish to carry a purse. These pants are made primarily of cotton and also viscose. This combination makes for a comfortable wear. The fabric is thin and airy, but not see through. This is perfect for warmer climates. In my area, there is a period of perhaps 3-4 weeks of cold weather throughout the entire year. Absent those 3-4 weeks, pants/slacks are not worn as a means to stay warm, but as a personal style preference or to follow a dress code at school or the office. The manufacturer offers specific and detailed care instructions regarding the handling, cleaning and maintenance of this delicate fabric that I found to be very informative and helpful. It is very challenging to eliminate all of the wrinkles in the garment. I have tried low heat in the dryer, using a liquid spray wrinkle releaser product, and a combination of both. Still, some wrinkling remains. It is not as noticeable in a darker shade like the navy I ordered. The navy is the same color as presented in the promotion. An iron may be needed depending on the look desired. I do not mind a few wrinkles if they give off the appearance of a distressed garment. For a lifelong skirt/dress wearer, I feel very comfortable wearing these pants and like the very flowy and lightweight design. I have worn these slacks both as casual wear and for more dressy occasions. They are quite versatile when paired with the right blouse and jewelry. Read more
My wife likes the looks of the pants and the lace trim on the bottom hem is a nice tough. The sizing is about what we expected and the total length is styled such that the bottom him is a bit shorter than regular fit jeans or pants. The material is lightweight which makes these pants appropriate for warmer weather or moderate climates. They will do well on our trip to Italy next late spring but they are too light to wear in Colorado for winter. Read more
Pros: I really like the eyelet trim at the bottom of these pants. The color is a very dark navy blue. They have pockets! The legs are roomy. Cons: there is no stretch to the fabric, except the waistband (and it wrinkles easily). These are very high waisted on me, too high. If I wear them where I usually wear my pants, the groin is at my knees. I'm only 5'1", so I'm used to having to alter my pants, but it's usually at the hem, not the groin area. If you're taller, this may not be an issue for you at all. Overall, though, I like them, so i will fix them. Since I'm short, I can alter the groin area to make them fit better and they won't be too long on me anymore. Read more
So many summer slacks are overzealous in their pursuit of leisure wear. This palazzo pant puts the brakes on just before reaching that point. The embroidered scallop lace trim gives it just enough zing to portray a spot of sophistication. The high waist always helps slenderize the silhouette, whether the shirt is tucked in or not. The pockets are lacking in depth, so even a small cell phone will not fit in it. No fuss, no muss… simply machine wash and dry. These casual wide‑leg pants are cute, especially with the embroidered trim at the bottom — it gives them a little extra flair that’s different for me. The legs are definitely wide like advertised, and the elastic waistband is strong enough to help create a nice silhouette. The material feels breathable and not itchy, which I appreciated. As for fit, though, they weren’t my favorite. I’m a curvy woman with “assets,” and that made the ankle area sit higher than I wanted. The higher the pants went on my body, the less comfortable they felt. The pants themselves are exactly as described, but the fit just didn’t work for my shape. I’m not sure if I’ll keep them, and I definitely wouldn’t buy them at full price based on how they feel. They’re good — just not amazing. Maybe it’s a me thing, but overall… eh.
