It’s Dollar Shave—who doesn’t know what they’re getting into? Great razors, good quality all around. I have pretty sensitive skin on my neck, but even with very little shaving cream when I was running low, I didn’t get any razor burn. All of this is just to mention that you can also sign up for their regular razor shipments, which range from the cost of a cheap cup of coffee ($4) to a fancy Starbucks creation ($10) per month. I used to subscribe to DSC directly a few years ago. The club had given me a really nice heavy handle to use with my starting kit at the time, which I learned recently is called the Executive Handle (or something). Lately, there have been DSC razor heads on sale at the grocery store. Great, I love DSC, I'll buy a few of them since I have the equipment anyway. Those specific on-sale razor heads I purchased IRL did NOT fit the Executive Handle I've been using for the past couple years. There was a warning on the back of the blade box, that I didn't understand at the time, that DID state the Executive was not compatible with these specific blades, which are apparently a new style. (I didn't know the Executive was the type of handle I had. I didn't know there was different types of handles at all when I bought the blades) Instead of throwing everything in the trash because I was mad the new razors didn't fit my handle, I decided to see if the new type of handle I needed was available here on Amazon. And it was. This handle will fit the blades you will likely find at a brick and mortor store. Read the whole box and make sure the handle you have will fit the blades to save yourself a grrr. Anyway - Reason for 5 stars - This 'new handle' and new style of blades aren't as heavy or beefy as the previous release of DSC products (from like 5-6 years ago) BUT - they're still awesome. And I was pleased. I'm a woman and (not on purpose) let my leg hair grow out since October, so ~ 3 months of growth. These new blades worked wonderfully cutting through my growth also rinsed SUPER easily. I seriously had a lot of leg hair to get through and it normally clogs my razor heads. I couldn't believe how cleanly the blades rinsed. I seriously was saying "whoa" and "oh my god" while I was getting through this shave. So - this was worth the 10 bucks. You might honestly find a better deal subscribing to them directly on their website. Good company to buy from and I would recommend this to anyone. Read more

A razor that works with refills that don’t break the bank?! I thought it was impossible, which is why I held off so long. But I genuinely like this better than the Gillette fusion I’d been using for years. From the slim design of the razor head, I can understand why people would *think* these razors are cheaply made, but actually the head lasted MONTHS before I had to replace it (plus, less plastic). To be fair, I don’t shave every day, but on that note I also feel like this razor works better than others when I’ve let my stubble get a little too long. The handle has a nice weight and the range of motion on the head follows along my jawline better than others I’ve used. I actually bought a second one and have had no issues with the head not being secure as other reviewers have suggested. Read more

The single greatest cause of a painful shave is dull, old razors. I have been using these razors for years. Each blade is to be used for only one week (seven days) of shaving. At the end of a week, you throw it away and pop on a new blade. Makes your freshly shaved face feel like a baby's bottom with no burning or irritation. I swear by these blades. Read more

This purchase was made to "upgrade" my razor handle and blade system. For the last ten years I've been using the original Schick and Gillette 5-blade systems. Both brands had handles that were solid, and did not flex, and did not have pivoting or spring loaded blade heads. The shave was incredible and the blades lasted forever. After ten years, though, neither handle will hold the blade, they keep falling out. I've been buying handles and blades to find something similar and so far I have had no luck. With all the marketing hype on Dollar Shave I bit the bullet and bought a handle and the four blade head because they said it was better for longer hair, and I do not shave every day because of my job. I was excited to try the new setup, but that only lasted five seconds. The razor yanked and pulled my hair as I tried to shave, and irritated my skin. It was almost impossible to get a clean cut. With every pass the razor left stubble and it took at least five passes to get the skin smooth, and this after the first two passes yanked on the hair and scratched my face. The blade handle, though knurled, is slippery, and not easy to hold. The one good point to the razor is the blade holder, it is well designed. The main issue with all new name brand razors is the over use of lubricating strips and pivoting and rotating blade heads - that stuff is just a gimmick to cover poor tolerances in the razor. It is almost impossible to put enough pressure on the razor to get a close shave, due to the extreme flex of the head. Simple razors worked so much better, and are almost impossible to find. This razor went from the shower to the waste basket the same day it was received. The one star is for the blade holder, which is excellent, otherwise, zero stars for the shave experience. Read more
