Customers say

Customers find the shoulder immobilizer effective at taking pressure off the neck and appreciate its comfort, with one noting it doesn't dig into the arm or underarm. Customers disagree on the fit, with some reporting it's too big at the smallest size. Customers disagree on how easy it is to put on and take off.

Well engineered and practical arm immobilizer.

Much better rigging than the one provided by the orthopedic group with logical around-shoulder harness that keeps the armsling right where it needs to be. Strap doesn't press against the side of the neck causing discomfort. Lots of strong Velcro straps allow tuning to every imaginable configuration. Read more

So much easier in the body.

I was put in a sling at the hospital following my shoulder surgery and it went around me neck. It was so uncomfortable. This sling takes the pressure and distributes it onto your other side but not your neck. It was a lifesaver!Weirdly, my surgeon had never seen this ne and is now telling patients about an alternative. One drawback for some is that insurance only covers the neck sling and not this one. If you gotta wear one, this is a good one.

Rotator tendon tear, bicep tendon tear and bone spurs led me to "discover" the joy of wearing a shoulder immobilizer sling. (Just kidding, there's no joy). I didn't need the abduction pillow (per my surgeon), but the comfort of this sling was FAR better than the other 3 that I tried. Most of that comfort is due to the shoulder loop, which takes some of the weight off your neck. Other reviews mention how hard it is to configure, and I would agree 100%. Just buy it early and have it fitted by your ortho team. Again, if you gotta wear one, stick with DonJoy. Read more

Doesn’t place strain or pressure on the neck

Disappointed CustomerDecember 23, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Ordered this product prior to shoulder surgery. Had a spinal fusion in 2019, and unable to have anything permanently pulling on my neck. This sling ensured that I had no issues with my neck while recovering from shoulder surgery. I will say that the pillow was a little too bulky, but it was easily removable. The red ball that it also came with was unnecessary, but it too was easy to remove. Read more

This type of sling takes the stress off of your neck

Elena D/Ol' Skool-GJanuary 17, 2023✓ Verified purchase

The whole concept of taking the stress off of your neck is great! I had rotator cuff repair, bicep work and cleaned up the shoulder joint itself. The sling the hospital sent me home with was so uncomfortable. I also had neck surgery a few years ago, so the hospital sling was pulling on my neck. It was so uncomfortable and it added to my shoulder pain. The DonJoy stress free sling took that stress off my neck. Unfortunately the sling had some mechanical issues. All of the straps are held on by velcro and plastic clips that click together. One of the key velcro “holders” on the sling wasn’t holding properly and it would come off. I ended up replacing the part with a couple of plastic rings from another sling I had and slipped the rings through the “ring” that goes around the non-surgical shoulder and it acted as a pulley. It worked!! I was so glad it worked because I didn’t want to have to order another one and go through the hassle of returning the defected sling. Just want to mention that I contacted the seller about the part. Connor did his best to help me solve the defective part issue. He communicated with me whenever I needed to touch base. He was going to send me a used part for the sling but I didn’t want to take the chance of it not working. He offered to send me a new one but it would have been a hassle going through Amazon again and due to time restraints I told Connor to forget about it. I’ll try and fix it myself. Connor is the best seller I’ve dealt with on Amazon. He will definitely try to solve whatever issue there is. Thank you so much Connor for all of your efforts. You were great! So, this is a great sling, the concept that is. You have to becareful of the velcro possibly not holding well at the chest, where it connects to the sling. I think the weight of the sling/arm puts too much pull on that velcro part at the chest. Since I fixed it without the velcro part it has worked great! Heal well everyone!🙏 Elena Read more

Greatest Sling Ever

Ron ScottFebruary 23, 2026✓ Verified purchase

I purchased this as a substitute after my recent rotator cuff and bicep repair surgery because the sling originally prescribed to me was extremely uncomfortable and poorly designed. I can honestly say I should have chosen this one from the beginning. I’m a bigger guy — 6’3”, 275 pounds — and comfort and proper fit were very important to me. This sling fits exceptionally well and feels incredibly comfortable. In fact, it’s so comfortable that at times it almost feels like I’m not wearing anything at all — yet it still provides the support and stability my arm needs. This has made a significant difference in my recovery. Highly recommend, especially for larger individuals who struggle to find a comfortable and supportive fit. Read more

You'll be in a brace for around 6 weeks. Make it this one.

Marie C. FarverDecember 10, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Better than the freebie my health system gave me. That strap went around my neck and after 5 days it was driving me nuts. Went online and saw this in Amazon for $123, the best $123 I've spent. No pressure on my neck because the strap to the arm brace connects to the opposite shoulder. Get this and spare yourself the annoyance of the neck strap on the brace from your health system. Disappointed. Returning.

RussellSeptember 27, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Overall, the concept is pretty good, but the execution is poor, especially for this price. Im on day 8. Seams are falling apart, and straps are stretching from day one. I have to readjust it every few days, and the problem is that I'm pretty much at its limit. The biggest disappointment is that while I'm waiting on my replacement, I ordered a $25 Velpeau, tried it, and I liked it more than this one. So I'll return the replacement as well. Also, the hand sack is so big, that it starts to sag and make wrinkles, which puts lots of pressure on your arm, stopping the blood flow. Read more
