Dorco razors are the very best cartridge razors one can buy bar none!!
Before my review: I have a medium density beard.... I have been using both double edge razors, electric razors and cartridge razors for the last 60 years and can provide a very detailed candid review of the razors I've used and my ratings of the various manufacturers razors for the gentleman seeking the very best razor to obtain the closest most comfortable shaver possible using just one razor..to accomplish the morning razor requirement. First back when...used double edge razor by Gillette it was just OK as I had to replace the razor and handle frequently as the blades didn't last that long at all..Rating a 5 out of possible 10. Next I began using the Gillette 5 blade cartridge and handle and got a decent shave so I would rank this razor a 7. Then I found that I was having to go back over my face and began using a Braun electric (single head shaver) to shave off my beard in areas that the Gillette razor didn't shave me smooth enough...I could still feel stuble so the electric finished the job. I really did find the cost of the Gilette blades to be quite expensive and they didn't last that long..maybe I would get only 3 or 4 shaves from those blades.Ranling a 6. So, my next razor was the Schick 5 blade razor..this razor did last a bit longer perhaps 5 to 6 shaves before buying a new set of cartridge blades. I did find that the blades were some less expensive than the Gillette cartridges...and I found I liked the rougher feel of the handle on the Schick handle..turns out the Gillette handle was too smooth to get a good grip when shaving. I would rank the Schick cartridge razor at a 7+. Next I saw an ad for the Harry's cartrdge shaver and have been using it for a couple of months and it did give me a closer shave than the Gillette and Schick razors and the price of the blades and handle were decidely less expensive. I found that the Harry's shaver the 5 blades definitly cloged with shaving cream and possibly some stuble even after rinsing the blades with hot water. Like the Gillette razor handle the handle on the Harry's razor was also too smooth. It was also necessary for me to finish the shave with my Braun shaver to provide me with my close shave requirements.I would rate the Harry's razor at an 8. Now, I reviewed the ads and reviews of the Dorco 4 blade cartridge razor and decided to give it a try. I received the $15.00 package (it inclided the razor and 10 four blade cartriges) (I thought this an excellent value for the money) I shaved twice so far with the new Dorco 4 blade cartridge and found I received the best shave I've ever had and the 4 blade cartridge rinsed out completly ...nothing left between the blades. I also liked the razors handle grip....it has groves throughout the handle.. So I would rate the Dorco razor with the 4 blade cartriges a solid 10. I will be trying to see how many close shaves I will be getting with the razor in the days and months ahead. By the way I did not have to go back over my shave to use the Braun shaver as the 4 blade system accomplished a smooth shave just by using the Dorco 4 blade cartridge system. I hope I've helped a lot of guys out there trying to decide the best shaver (for the closest shave) out there for their beards. Give the Dorco multi blade system a try and I believe you too will really be impressed with the results and most reasonable pricing of the multi blade razors. Read more
