I got these after originally asking my barber what blades he buys for the shop. Given that these are used in a commercial setting where repeat customers can make or break a business, I take it that these are of good enough quality for an agreeable professional shave, as well as economical and easily available. Now, as far as personal use, I've had good experiences with these Dorco Prime Platinums in anything from a Henson Al13+ to a vintage Gillette, as well as a disposable plastic safety razor. It's hard to gauge where they lie on a scale since my experience with various blades is not too big, but I'd say that Feather blades are likely sharper. There are many brands of razor blades out there for safety razors, and a wide variation of opinions for each. What I can say about these Dorco STP301 Prime Platinum Extra Double Edge Razor Blades is that they perform at the level of a few other premium brands I've tried, but without the pricing that comes with some of the "boutique" brands. I would place these at the level of the "original" (before their manufacturing moved, a few years back) Astra Platinum blades. The quality and performance of these Dorco blades has been consistent, including the manufacturing as well as the labeling and packaging. These give me a smooth shave every time - no snags or dud blades, and while I tend to use each blade only twice (flipping them over between shaves), I suspect these might still be good for another shave or two if that's how you use them. The sharpness is super impressive, it cut through my coarse beard hair like a hot knife in the butter. No tugging, no pulling, only a very smooth and precise glide across my skin. Before, with my old blades, I always needed three passes minimum to get a baby-smooth shave, and even then, I would have some patchy spots, especially under my jaw. With this Dorco blades, two passes is always enough, and sometimes I even get away with just one pass on the cheeks! This mean less irritation, less redness, and much quicker shaving. The stainless steel and platinum coating seems to really keep the edge perfect for a long time. I am getting easily 5-6 good shaves from a single blade before I feel it is time to change. This is excellent durability, much better than the other premium blades I try, and for the price of this bulk pack, the value is simply unbelievable. The universal fit is also good, they slide into my standard safety razor handle with no problem at all. They are individually wrap in the small paper packets, which is very safe and convenient for storage in the bathroom cabinet.
