We really like these night lights and would definitely buy them again. We use one in our bathroom at home and another in our camper, both set to auto. I put in my garage, pretty bright. At first I don't it's defective and does not have the sensor to detect when it's bright and turns off. Because I saw on all the photos and even on the box that there's this little hole next to the dimness adjustment. However, I do not see it on my night light.
