I purchased a pair of these seals for my 2006 Chevy Tahoe. I didn't want to buy all 4 yet, as there are mixed reviews. I installed them on the driver's side doors this morning. Installation took 10-15 minutes. I have ordered two more for the passenger side doors! The front door seal went on quickly. I had to remove the door sill trim and fuse box cover. The other trim pieces moved enough to pop the new seal on. The seal was slightly longer than needed, so I trimmed off the extra. The door closes perfectly with no additional force needed. The rear door was a bit more trouble, as I did not remove the grab handle at the top of the door. The new seal was hard to install around the handle and I had to use a screwdriver to help make it fit. When I replace the seals on the passenger's side, I will remove the handle to speed up the install. The new seal was longer than needed so I trimmed the extra off. The rear door closes with no additional force. I am very happy with the fit and finish. My 18 year old Tahoe had some wind noise and the rear door seal would sometimes pop off at the top. I cannot wait for the other two seals to come it and finish this product. Read more

Note: Although this item is listed as "driver's side" only, it works for both sides (and presumably passenger doors also, if your vehicle has them). Find and watch instructional videos on the Net and you'll see that you'll only need to remove 4 interior trim pieces before removing the old and installing the new weatherstripping. When you remove the old weatherstrip, find and remove the small piece of foam rubber that's inserted in one end; this prevents leakage past the joint where the ends meet. You'll want to glue one end of the foam into one end of the weatherstrip AFTER you've installed and cut it to length. The other end need not be glued. I used silicone sealant for this purpose. Install time was less than 30 minutes per side. After installation, a test drive showed that the cabin of my 2004 Tahoe was much quieter. It was amazing to hear the difference. Bear in mind that with the new seals, you will HAVE to work harder to shut the doors. That's the nature of new door weatherstripping! Recommended if you're tired of hearing the wind in your ear when driving your Tahoe or other compatible vehicle. Read more

This for my 2006 GMC SIERRA 2500. It's thicker as every other review confirms. You will have to shut the door harder as everyone else confirms. It was longer than necessary and went on with no glue. I replaced it because in heavy winds I'd hear noise inside the truck from wind trying to pull the door open I think, and I'm hoping this fixes the problem. There is a noticeable difference between the passenger and driver door now, and I'm confident it will NOT leak water this fall. I don't know if the door slam thing will change overtime. I just don't want to come out to a dead battery because my dome light was left on from not shutting the door harder enough. Read more

Perfectly maintained 2004 GMC 2500HD with a bad driver side door seal and a water leak to add. Replaced the original seal with this Dorman product and the problem is resolved. Easy install. Note that this does fit multiple vehicles, so I had about 4-5 inches that had to be trimmed due to overlap. Just make sure the seal is seated firmly in every portion of the door channel prior to trimming. I probably went over it 10 times just to make sure. Used a pair of tin snips to trim the seal. Others have mentioned that the door has to be forcefully closed after the new seal is installed. That is my experience, as well. However, just like any new seal it will form into place over time and become easier to shut the door. If you have a bad seal, buy this. It is as close to OEM as you are going to get and the quality is great. Read more

Worked well as far as installing. Be sure to give yourself room to work the replacement back on in a straight line so that you don’t bend the metal out of form. Loosen up some of the trim if needed. Trim did not have to be completely removed to install. This is also what seems like a little thicker that original. It does work properly, however the doors need to be slammed close to completely close. I hope over time the gaskets give in a little. It definitely stopped the water leaking inside and the wind noise at high speed. Total time for a 4 doors was about 2 hours. Read more

This gaskets was the perfect length. At first I had a 2" over lap and was about to cut it, but I decided to pull it off and try again. The second time I installed it I really pushed it into the corners of the door frame and this time it came out absolutely perfect. I installed it on a cold day and it was hard to shut the door because the fresh rubber was stiff. But, after the first sunny day, it softened up to where the door shuts easily. If installed in the summer it will likely be easier. It was tough on a cold day. Installed on 2004 chevy silverado 2500 Read more

While the design is suppose to be improved and stronger it has a stem where the gasket meets the j channel that makes it 1/8 in thicker, that prevents the door from closing bc the door hits in the front way before it is close to the latch. I bought other ones with the factory design and my gaps were perfect out of the box. Read more
