This set comes with two full size products, a Dove body wash and matching deodorant in the same tropical scent. The smell is light and fresh, kind of pineapple leaning, and not overpowering at all. Even though it’s technically marketed toward men, I’d call it totally unisex. It’s just clean and summery rather than cologne heavy. The body wash lathers really well and feels creamy instead of harsh or squeaky. My skin felt clean but not stripped afterward, which is something I always watch for because a lot of fragranced washes leave me dry or itchy. This one didn’t. It rinses off easily and doesn’t leave any weird residue. The deodorant glides on smoothly and doesn’t tug or crumble. It goes on clear and dries down pretty quickly. I didn’t notice any chalky buildup or white marks on clothing, which is always a win. The scent lines up nicely with the body wash so you’re not layering two totally different fragrances. Ingredient wise, the deodorant uses aluminum sesquichlorohydrate as the active antiperspirant ingredient, so it’s meant to actually reduce sweat, not just mask odor. The base has silicones and emollients to help it glide, plus sunflower seed oil for a bit of conditioning. There is fragrance and a few common fragrance allergens listed, so something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive. The body wash uses gentle surfactants like cocamidopropyl betaine and sodium lauroyl isethionate along with glycerin for moisture, which explains why it feels less drying than a lot of drugstore washes. It does include fragrance and sodium olefin sulfonate, which can be a bit stronger, but the overall formula still felt balanced on my skin. The wash itself is a lathering champion, a foamy, sudsy tsunami that cleanses my skin without turning it into a parched desert wasteland, usually my natural state after a shower. My skin actually felt hydrated, like it had just guzzled a gallon of water, instead of its usual post-wash impression of a discarded potato chip. The antiperspirant glided on smoother than my best pickup line -- which isn't saying much -- but it didn't leave my underarms feeling like I'd just applied chunky white paste. There must be a soccer tournament coming up because I am seeing this FIFA stuff popping up all over. I'm American so I don't care about soccer but I've used the Dove men's care stuff before and always found them to be good products. The body wash works like any other body wash. It's easy to apply and lathers well. The fragrance is called "striker swag" which sounds cool but I have no idea what it means. It would be cooler if they called it Stryker, like the armored vehicle or like Colonel Stryker, kind of a badass from the X-men movies. Anyway "striker swag" is a nice masculine fragrance, with a lot of citrusy bergamot. It's a fresh, and refreshing, masculine scent, good for daytime or after a workout. The fragrance does linger a bit but I'll allow it. The product description says deodorant, but what is included (and shown in the pictures) is an antiperspirant. I'm fine with that too, prefer it actually. But it's something to consider if you're worried about aluminum, which this antiperspirant contains. There's no inner seal on the body wash and there was a tiny amount of seepage out of the container. Overall I'm happy I got to try these products. They're up to the usually good standard of the Dove men's products. The soccer branding means nothing to me but who cares, they're still fine products and a good value. Read more
