After cutting a large portion of my thumb nail and the end of my thumb off my neighbor told me about these gloves. They are great, I have not had any more emergency room visits for cuts from knives. So glad I got a pair to use with my new mandolin. Works very well to protect fingers especially when the pieces of whatever you’re slicing start getting smaller. The holding tool that comes with the mandolin only works down to a certain size then you need to switch to hand-held. I only use one glove for the vegetable holding hand keeping the other one for later use. When finish I keep the glove on and wash it in the dish soap as I clean up, rinse it well and hang to dry on the kitchen rack. Great gloves for cutting veggies and meat. I wear mine all the time to protect my hands. The food is kind of slippery with the gloves so, make sure the veggies are dry and pat the meat with a paper towel too. Otherwise, hold items firmly and cut away. These take some getting use to, but once you have used them repeatly, you will feel strange cutting bare handed again. They fit good and well made. Make sure you get a snug fit too.
