These booties are perfect whether you are camping or just taking a nap at home. The weigh almost nothing, and yet they somehow keep your feet perfectly warm. I also like to use them on cold Colorado nights when I otherwise just can't seem to get my feet warm. I just slip these on to watch TV or to go to bed, and they are so comfortable that I barely feel them , but they keep my feet warm and toasty. I have the Medium size, and my feet are size 10 (male), which makes these just a tad too small. I would have preferred one size up, but they weren't available when I placed my order. Although I have not, and don't plan ever to, use these booties whilst camping in the snow, I was glad to get a chance to check these out, since there are bound to be a bunch of people out there cursed with cold feet. I think that one has to think about these booties in the context of what the manufacturer claims, and the apparent intended use, which is for those who are out and about in the snow, and wanting to keep their feet warm when tucked up in a tent. These booties are not intended for trudging around outside, so the real question is: Will these keep my feet warm when indoors (probably with the indoors area being rather chilly)? As far as I can tell, the answer is: Perhaps. These booties are definitely comfy, and fairly warm, but having A/B tested them with one foot in the bootie, and one in a slipper, I'm not sure that they are any warmer than a good pair of sheepskin slippers. So, there's a clear advantage that they are soft, and you probably won't mind putting your feet up on the sofa, or in your sleeping bag. The concomitant disadvantage is that if you're slumming it and have to pop out to Safeway, you'll probably make a mess of them, even if it isn't raining. They also have no arch support, so even padding around the house isn't quite so good. Still, they're very light, they clearly pack down very well into their stuff sack, and they puff up quickly when you take them out, so if you really are camping, then they would not be onerous to cart around, and would be a good addition to your kit, as long as you find them to be warm enough. As far as sizing is concerned, the Medium size seems to work for US women's size 10-1/2, though getting one's foot in is a bit of a struggle. The bottom line, then is that for their intended use they're probably excellent, as long as you don't have excessively congenitally freezing feet. They'd definitely be better than sitting around in a tent just in (possibly damp) socks. The price also seems right. If you're thinking of them as an ultra-toasty upgrade to slippers at home, then they're a less obvious win. They do make one wonder, though, if some sort of après-ski wear might represent a good upgrade for when slippers just won't cut it. Read more
