This memory foam mattress topper is wonderful! The first morning after sleeping on it was the first morning in ages that I woke up without lower back pain. I would say that this is not the best choice for a person that prefers firmness. This mattress topper is thick, supportive, but also gives the sensation of sleeping in a soft "hug." It is comfortable to lay on in any sleep position that I have tried. I don't even really need a pillow with this mattress topper and only continue to use one because that is what I am accustomed to. It has absolutely brought new life to our old mattress. Unpacking it was easy. The instructions say to let it rise for "several hours." I found that letting it rise and come to form for an overnight was sufficient. There was no smell as some other reviews on other mattress toppers have claimed to have. The media could not be loaded. It’s really 3 inches thick and puts a layer of softness to a temper pedic mattress. But it has a bunch of little white pieces of foam and if you have back problems you can feel those all bunched up underneath you. I really don’t think it’s going to last long or wash well. I’ve had pillows like like this that get hard and flatten and I’m guessing this will too. After purchasing and seeing it I don’t think it’d wash well. It’s made well as far as stiches and the material and I’m a hot sleeper as well and I did get warm trying to sleep on it. It was very quiet no noise. It’s too bad. These companies don’t test these on Tempur-pedic mattresses that are firm and with people with real spinal issues. I have bulging disc spinal stenosis and like I said, you can feel all them tiny pieces of foam. So I did return mine. there was a couple of loose pieces of foam inside the packaging. I searched for months for a mattress topper that would be supportive for my back, hips and shoulders. The reviewed seemed favorable. In the picture looks nice and smooth and supportive. First when I took it out of the bag it was bumpy, nothing like the picture. I thought it might go away after letting it “pump” up. It did but then, it flatten. I have mine for over a month and the side I sleep on went down a lot compared to the side I don’t sleep on. I sleep alone and I not very big, but if you look at this topper on my bed one side is high, my side not so much. Honestly, I wouldn’t buy it again. In the photo you can see the side that is higher.
