I have eczema on my lips that flares up during the winter, so I was unbelievably excited when I saw this hydrocortisone lip balm mentioned in a Best Lip Balm article on Wirecutter. This stuff really works, and it’s genuinely long-lasting. I put it on before bed when I’m having a flare-up and my lips are super chapped, and in the morning, all the dead skin peels right off, leaving soft, moisturized lips behind. I usually only use this lip balm when I’m especially chapped/having an eczema flare because hydrocortisone is a steroid, so it can thin the skin with long-term use. Obviously, it’s a little pricey, but it’s worth every penny. Love that it’s unscented, too, because my eczema is triggered by scented products. 10/10 recommend!!! Read more
BEST OF ALL TIME! While on Accutane, I tried more chapsticks than I can name, and this one was BY FAR the best for chapped lips. I was recommended by my dermatologist to get this as I suffer from eczema and have had the worse spell of my lips itching and never experienced this before. I used it and seemed to help at first but it seems as I almost got used to it by time I used the whole stick that it wasn’t helping much anymore. I have never left a review ever but this product completely healed my lips, and so quickly as well!! For a few years, after my lips got severely burnt, it felt like my lips were sensitive to EVERYTHING. Eating certain foods would irritate, and make my lips itchy. And though I often wore chapstick, my lips were moisturized with tiny flakes?? It was a weird thing, but it with whatever was going on with my lips, I just wished I had normal chapped lips like everyone else. THIS WAS A GODSEND!!! I have eczema and I noticed that I would get a super small patch around my eye that would then disappear and show up again at random times but the patch would migrate around my face/eye area. Now, I had a full blown dry eczema patch around my lips and NOTHING WORKED FOR LONG I tried ceramides, aquaphor, vaseline, exfoliating gently then putting oils and the patch would get dry and flakey again. I put this on at night and then a thick layer of aquaphor and the next morning I had a good sized dry skin flake come off my lips and then underneath would be smooth moisturized lips. This is going to be a staple for me during the dry fall/winter months. But also remember this is A STEROID LIP BALM I plan on only using this at night and see what's the least amount of times I can use it. Read more
Magnificent! I get recurrent eczema flareups on my lips often and nothing worked long enough until I found this. This product constantly keeps my lips moisturized, supple, smooth, and they are so much healthier now that they are a little lighter and pinker, and they almost look a little fuller because of the health.
