Say no to crack

ChrisFebruary 2, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Dr Naylor's Udder Balm is incredible. If you get cracked finger tips in the winter like I do this is what you need. A little goes a long way, you just work it into your hands or feet and you can feel it working right away. It does leave a more oily residue than a lotion would but that doesn't bother me. Only issue for some might be the smell, it definitely has a medicine smell due to the antiseptic property but it feels and smells like it's working. If you want to get rid of those cracks just put some on your hands or feet before bed and wear some gloves or socks to bed and you'll notice a huge difference in the morning. Read more

Amazing (Dry/cracked hands, a must have)

A&M DellOctober 27, 2024✓ Verified purchase

For years, my hands have been like sandpaper from constant washing. As the seasons change, the dryness worsens, and my hands crack painfully around my nails. I’ve tried everything—from steroid creams to greasy ointments, but nothing provided lasting relief. After seeing a dermatologist and being diagnosed with eczema, I was still left with rough, cracked hands, and nothing seemed to fully heal them. I’ve even tried Working Hands, Diabetic Lotion, and Eczema Lotion, but when my hands are in really bad condition, these products just burn and make things worse. Utter Balm is the only product that has given me instant relief and soothing comfort. The other lotions, like Working Hands, would burn and sting when my hands were cracked, while Utter Balm provided soothing relief right away. After just a week, my hands started to heal. The cracks began closing, and my hands became soft again. I’ve never found a product that worked this well! I apply it twice a day, and even with frequent use, it’s not greasy. It forms a protective barrier that lasts throughout the day, which is a huge relief for someone like me who’s constantly washing their hands. The scent is mild, like a hospital, but it fades quickly and isn’t a dealbreaker for me. But the best part? I’ve also been using it on my dog’s paws and my micro pig’s hoofs and it’s worked wonders there too! My dog’s paws, which are prone to dryness and cracking in the winter, have become noticeably softer and more hydrated. And my pig’s hoofs, which can get rough and callused, have also shown marked improvement. It’s so comforting to know that I’m using a safe, effective product that works for my pets. Update: It’s been two months, and I recently went to upstate New York. The weather was freezing, and I was washing my hands constantly due to meal prepping for 12 people. I forgot to pack Udder Balm, and within days, my hands cracked and became painful again. I tried other products, but nothing worked until I got home and applied Udder Balm—the relief was instant. I gave this product a five-star review because it’s the only one that’s truly brought my hands back to life. If you have dry, cracked hands, especially from constant washing or working in cold conditions, I highly recommend Udder Balm. It’s a must-have in my routine, and it works better than anything else I’ve tried. Udder Balm for life. Read more

Great for all kinds of things

Wendy O.September 6, 2012✓ Verified purchase

A loooong time ago, my new roommate in college was unpacking her things and out popped a can of Dr. Naylor's Udder Balm, which she set up on her dresser. I didn't pay much attention to it at first, but the distinctive red and yellow can caught my eye and I read what it said. Udder balm? What the heck do you use Udder Balm for??? Everything. ????? I began to wonder what kind of roommate I had. Turns out her grandparents lived on a farm and it is used for chapped cow teats. Yup, really. They also used it for pretty much everything else. Chapped, lips, irritated nose from a cold, scrapes and cuts. The stuff is amazing. When we left for winter break, I asked her to bring me back a can. I still actually have that first can, dated 1982, because Udder Balm holds a special place in my heart. Since then I have used it for all kinds of things with my family. if you have a bad cold and have been blowing your nose a lot, you end up with a very sore, chapped and irritated nose that can take many days to heal. A little Udder Balm before you go to sleep and the next morning the skin feels almost completely better. Same for chapped lips. I actually use it each night before I go to sleep and I can't even tell you the last time I had chapped lips, Now, I will caution, on chapped skin it may sting at first, but that stops after about a minute or so. We dab some on the gauze side of a band-aid for cuts. It's great for chapped hands. If you are coloring your hair, you can use some around the hairline and ears to create a barrier and keep the dye from staining your skin. There are many uses, and a little bit goes a long way. I was a little disappointed when I got this from Amazon the first time because the ingredient list was different from the original can, and I was concerned it wouldn't work as well. But it does, and I am thrilled. Read more

The Messiest and Most Effective Handcream I've Found

Lola Jo MossMarch 9, 2021✓ Verified purchase

I wash my hands often, especially since Covid 19 appeared on the scene, and this dries out my skin and causes the fingertips to develop cracks that are as painful as paper cuts. I have tried every kind of hand cream I could find to remedy the situation, from those purporting to prevent such cracks to those advertised as ultra-dry skin salves to petroleum jelly. Nothing works. Then I decided to give Dr. Naylor's a try and bingo! I've used it for about 2 weeks, and everything has healed. Even my hand doctor--this is the absolute truth--noticed the difference! So I love Dr. Naylor's Udder Balm and am a convert for life. However, the reason I didn't assign 5 stars to this product is that it's the messiest stuff I've ever used. It's like an ointment, but it comes in a can, and the can arrived leaking the stuff, even though the can was sealed. It's both sticky and gloppy. You need only a little bit to put on your hands (or feet) in order to get full coverage, so I imagine that the tin I bought will take years to use up. I have actually set it inside a small cardboard box to absorb the mess that exudes from the can. If you can accept this fact about the product, you will appreciate its benefits. If not, Bag Balm is less messy (but I can't stand the smell). The scent of Dr. Naylor's is, unlike Bag Balm, not heavily camphorated and not overly medicinal. The smell also evaporates as soon as the cream is absorbed. Read more
