These are stated for diabetics..Im not. BUT...I had purchased a similiar calf sock for my diabetic mom one year...when she passed,the socks hadnt been used so I brought them home and wore them. The loose feel on the top is loose,yet doesnt slip down. Ive seen that if elderly perosn especially wears a tight fit sock, the bloodflow on the skin will make the bottom ankle skinny,thus stops some blow flow. I found this with my cancer going husband, and my dad who is elderly.I started cutting a tip on my socks too because its difficult finding an affordable loose fitting sock thats by the calf. I came online to find these same socks by Dr Scholl's and they come in a pack of two. I love these and my upper calf doesnt feel tight when wearing them. Theyre also very warm for the Fall weather. I was looking for quality socks that would save me from getting blisters in my new leather boots while I trekked in Alaska. They were amazing in EVERY way. I knew they would be because they got the medical seal of approval by the national medical association. They were not too bulky, yet the parts that needed the extra padding were right where they should be to prevent those nasty blisters - in the toes and heels. They held up amazingly well through days of usage. In fact, I accidentally only brought one pair I was shocked to see at the end of my trip the sole pair I was using looked brand new after wearing them for hours 10 long grueling hours a day while hiking for a solid week!
