I've been a fan of Dr. Squatch stuff since they were doing direct sales on social media sites years ago. The combination of goofy fun branding and names and the all natural/hypoallergenic soaps and body washes dedicated for men hooked me immediately, and I've been a user of their bar soap since, as well as occasionall dabbling in their line of shampoos and body washes. Now Dr. Squatch has their entry into the lucrative body spray market! I'm not super picky about body spray brands so long as they have a scent I like that isn't too perfumey. I've used them all, from Dove to Old Spice to Axe, etc. They all have at least a couple of options I enjoy, but one thing they all share in common is that the "scent" fades pretty fast. One second you're walking out the door smelling like a fresh raging river in the Canadian Rockies, and the next you smell...well you just smell. All those awesome spicy scents and invigorating odors have evaporated leaving you smelling like...you. Dr. Squatch seems to have remedied this somewhat, at least with the two scents included in this two pack, and my first choice, Sandalwood Summit, literally had me doing a sort of DeNiro face and nodding. Good stuff...really good. I love Sandalwood anyway, but this is a sort of subdued Sandalwood "musk" thing, and fresh out of the shower, I enveloped myself in a cloud of the stuff and heard my wife exclaim something I can't put here, but, suffice it to say it wasn't a compliment. THAT'S how I know it's good. And that strength...it lasted. Like, I don't know how else to describe it. I don't make a habit of smelling myself, but I could sort of detect it on me for a large part of the day and I'd bring my arm up to my nose and it was like "alright, alright, alright!! Let's party!". Maybe the other sprays do that, too, but I've never actually noticed it, so I gotta say it's a Squatch thing. I find that's the case with their soaps as well. I've tried all kinds of the "MANLY" bar soaps and Squatch has 'em all beat. I've been bouncing back and forth between Sandalwood Summit and the other variety, Coastal Mist (very fresh and crisp but, between the two, Sandalwood Summit's the keeper), and these are really good sprays. The cans also feel like they have a lot of "life" in 'em, too, so I figure I'll probably get at least a month out of one, which is a good thing because that's the only downside to Dr. Squatch ANYTHING - the price. You're looking at around $13-15 bucks a can with this stuff, and I mean, as much as I like it, that's steep given other options. Thing is, this stuff is also noticeably better than those other options so it's definitely a "get what you pay for" situation. Me? Every day, even though I shower and put on fresh deodorant, there have been times where the deodorant I used was not strong enough to keep my underarm odors away. Granted, I play a lot of ball and I am fairly active, so I really have put many deodorants to the test. I sweat a lot once I get moving, and It truly can be embarrassing when my underarm odors overpower my deodorant. I have tried most of the deodorants that are found in a grocery store or a big box store, and I have been most impressed with the Dr. Squatch brand of deodorants I ordered this Dr. Squatch 2-pack, which includes a four ounce can of Coastal Mist scented deodorant, and a four ounce can of Sandalwood Summit scented deodorant. These are both full body deodorants and can be used in more places than just the underarms. It can be used anywhere you may have an odor, including feet and privates. The Coastal Mist scent is a light and refreshing scent that could make you feel like you are at the beach, on the sand, and soaking up rays. The Sandalwood Summit scent is a heavier scent, with notes of sandalwood, cedar wood, and black pepper. Both of these scents are masculine, but so different from each other. The price of $26 compared to most deodorants is without a doubt on the high side. But, because of the reliability of the odor protection, I am more than willing to pay it. Dr. Squatch makes deodorants that truly can last up to 72 hours. These two spray deodorants are aluminum free which is great for the skin, as pores will not clog up. The spray goes on easy and dries quickly. It will leave you feeling fresh with no sticky residue. Also important to note is that dermatologists have marked Dr. Squatch products as safe for all skin types. This is a great product, and would definitely recommend it to any active men that want to be sure that their body odors are kept to themselves. All in all, $26 is a great value for the money. My son has only ever used traditional deodorant sticks, so I was curious how he would react to this spray version from Dr Squatch. The two cans in this set are easy to tell apart on the counter with the different colored bands, one blue for Fresh Falls and one all tan for the Wood Barrel Bourbon scent, and both have the same chunky tan cap that looks like it belongs on a camping trip more than in a fancy bathroom. He likes that the spray goes on lightly without feeling wet or sticky and he said it was “not so bad” which in teenage language is honestly pretty high praise. The Fresh Falls has a cleaner everyday smell while the bourbon one leans warmer and a bit richer, and neither came across as overly chemical or overpowering in a small bathroom. I also appreciate that the cans are a good size at 4 ounces each, not tiny travel bottles, and they have clear labeling so he can grab the one he wants without asking me every time. From a parents perspective this is a nice change from the usual white stick that ends up smeared on dark T shirts and all over the inside of the cap. The spray comes out in a fine mist and has not left marks on clothing or the bathroom counter, even when my son gets a little too generous with it while aiming at his underarms. He likes the novelty of the 360 style spray that works even when the can is tilted and that small detail actually makes it easier for him to use quickly after a shower. I like that the overall look of the bottles is simple and sturdy, with a fun little character logo on the front that gives it some personality without looking childish. For anyone with a teen or young adult who is hesitant to try a spray, this set feels like an easy, good smelling way to experiment with a different routine. Read more
