Tips to Make This Cleanse Effective, Easy, and Enjoyable (I started with 2 pills too) :)
I am a full week into this cleanse and have had such an easy time of it (including losing 9 pounds -133 lbs down to 124 lbs- in 7 days), I want to share my tips now so you guys can benefit immediately instead of waiting until the second week of my cleanse is complete. I started on Day 1 taking 2 pills and never had any painful cramps or "accidents". I did my daily workouts (BodyPump) and nature walks and even had an hour-long massage on Day 4. I believe you can emulate my key takeaways for making this cleanse effective, easy, and enjoyable... even starting with 2 pills (and continuing to take 2 pills daily). Tip 1: I stayed very hydrated. In the beginning, I drank approximately 200oz water daily. I am no longer measuring/monitoring my water intake (and am probably drinking half that on a daily basis now) but I'm convinced that being well-hydrated helped moved things along with only minor cramps. If I ever needed to nudge my bowels from feeling like "I might need to go soon" to "I need to go now", I just chugged a tall glass of water and evacuated my bowels within a minute or two. Tip 2: I learned that taking the 2 pills right before bedtime is best. The first time I took them, they kicked in about 6 hours later. The second time, about 7 hours later and stabilized at kicking in 7-8 hours after taking them. So, if you take them (with a tall glass of water) right before bed, you will maximize your sleep time. Tip 3: I ate mostly healthy (whole foods) and mostly vegan... I did have the occasional eggs and cheese and even a few Doritos one day. I tend to be a healthy eater (fresh fruits and veggies) and am on the Bryan Johnson Blueprint diet for almost a month now and my foundation of healthy eating probably helped. Tip 4: I enjoy daily exercise. I tend to stay active which keeps my body happy. Tip 5: My attitude about bowel movements is that they make me happy. If they "hurt" a little bit I don't mind, I am grateful that I am going since I love feeling light and empty. I'm certain that my attitude helped this cleanse be more enjoyable since I felt zero stress, which keeps my stomach happy. --- To give you an idea of my experience, I never had to "run" to the bathroom. I could walk and even finish what I was doing before heading to the bathroom. The first morning I had 2 big BMs and 2 small BMs The second morning I had 2 big to medium BMs and 2 small BMs The third morning I had 2 big to medium BMs and 2 small BMs After that, I've stabilized to 1 large to medium BM and then 1-2 small BMs I should also mention how grateful I am for this cleanse. I was very backed up prior to beginning the cleanse so I am overjoyed with all of this "movement". :) The 2 days before I started, I used 2 enemas the night before and 2 more enemas the morning of... all 4 resulting in LARGE evacuations since I hadn't gone to the bathroom 2-3 days prior. I honestly don't know why my BMs have been taking days off for the last 6 months or so (and I really dislike that feeling of being too full and bloated). What I do know is this cleanse is a godsend and I'm overjoyed that my stomach is flat again and my spirits are high once more (I like looking cute in my clothes and feeling good in my body). :) I hope these tips have been helpful for you. All the best! Read more
