Fresh out of the box, this does not appear to be very large to me at a glance, but because of the shape and textures, it felt larger than it is. The first thing you notice, though, is the coloration. It's a marbling swirl of color, and could be a work of art if it wasn't somewhat-obviously something else. Kudos to whoever decided to create this color mix--it's fantastic. This is my first "fantasy monster" experience, so bear that in mind as I review. On to the practical matters...as pertains to the male alleyway. It starts out relatively easy; there are some side (depending on your orientation) barbs that do point upward/toward the tip. You will almost certainly notice these. That said, they are soft silicone, so they don't hurt, they just present some additional interest and challenge on the way in. As you continue, the challenge you face with textures continues--in a good way. There are more barbs and things to deal with. And then you reach the knot, and this is not huge, but not small either, and the textures on this make it a lot more challenging that it would be otherwise. And the overall item is plenty soft, so none of this will hurt--as long as the lube is flowing. Feel free to change up the orientation, as it will change how it all feels. All in all, a pretty fun journey. That said, I do not think this is for beginners. Two specific things about this, that I would imagine others who regularly use these fantasy-shaped items already know: 1. Because of the textures all over this, imo you will definitely want more lube than usual. You will. 2. There are little pockets and divots and dips and valleys in every direction--as you can see in the seller's photos on the product page--where unclean things could gather and party. Some are thumbtack-shaft wide little holes, divots, and channels maybe at most a couple of millimeters deep, kinda all over the place--all part of the design, to be clear, and not any sort of molding error. Just make sure you take your time with the cleaning and thoroughly inspect it from all angles. Packaging is discrete, and the device is even supported at the tip inside the box to keep it from shifting around. I imagine whoever designed this is proud of it--and they should be, imo. Overall, this is actually not only a beautiful-looking item, it presents challenge and interest, and when you finally reach full occupancy, the payoff is pretty great--well worth the effort. For the asking price of $24 at the time I ordered it, I guess it might feel a little expensive compared to other similar items I've seen, but this one definitely delivers both in beauty and in function. Pretty firm feeling to it, if it was a little bit softer I feel it could be better. The spikes are a breeding zone for bacteria, so clean it thoroughly. This is probably the most aesthetically beautiful and artistic dildo that I own. As I am a guy, I was planning to use this for anal play, but only when I received it did I notice that it has (very soft and stretchy) spikes pointing upwards along the sides, so I don’t think it is ideal for casual or beginner anal play unless the user is very loose, because the spikes would tend to catch on the rim of the orifice. However, if one compresses the spikes against the shaft of the toy while inserting carefully, then it works. If you’re into role play and erotic fantasy play, I could actually see the spikes and complexity of insertion as being part of the fun that you can weave into your narrative. Performance and physical characteristics: Aside from the spikes requiring some extra care, the toy itself is great overall. It’s made of what feels like a single uniform silicone material that’s soft and stretchy. I should note that those spikes are very very soft and although they look formidable, they aren’t going to hurt even delicate internal skin as long as you’re being gentle. Try pinching the cartilage fold at the very top of your ear; that’s about the firmness of the spiky bits. The silicone has a glossy, smooth finish, so with lubricant there is very little friction. The knot is a really good, hefty size, and the flared base has really intricate geometric bumps and protuberances that add extra stimulation around whichever opening is being used. The appearance is really magical. The silicone is a blend of different colors with subtle glitter and shimmer that you can see up close, and make the surface texture look more interesting from afar. And one thing I didn’t notice until I saw it in person: the knot (bulge) is actually shaped like a dragon’s head with an open mouth, with the shaft of the toy being like a tongue. Kind of like how the Xenomorph in Alien has a smaller mouth that comes out of its main mouth (see my photos). That’s pretty cool! All in all, I’m not going to use this that often like my other more realistic dildos, but I AM going to display it on my bookshelf because it’s so beautiful and interesting. I’m not sure that houseguests will be able to tell what it is at first glance, but it will be fun to see who notices and guesses its true purpose correctly. I have a growing collection of unique dildos, which I display on a shelf. They certainly inspire interesting conversations. I got this one to add to my collection. It’s not overwhelmingly large, but it is bigger than something I would personally use. The texture and small spikes are interesting and seem like they would provide significant stimulation. The silicone it’s made from is not that cheap, slimy, jelly-like material. The material is soft, smooth, and flexible. The small spikes and ridges look firm but are pliable. There was no odd smell when I opened the box, which is always a plus. My biggest concern, if I were to use this toy, would be ensuring it’s thoroughly cleaned after use due to the detailed craftsmanship, which creates many small areas that need attention.
