Only one zipper (a good thing) draw strings make it easier to access. Read more
I've been using this backpack as my daily-driver for my work laptop and tablet for a month or so now and I gotta say, it's been pretty impressive so far. No wearing out, plenty of room inside, the drawstring is different for me, as I am used to a more traditional backpack. If you pull the drawstring taut, and get the top flap over it and buckled, there's no way water is getting in there unless you hold it upside down. Read more
I picked up this Ankery backpack for everyday use—school, casual outings, and light travel. I was drawn to its stylish drawstring buckle design and claims of being both lightweight and water-resistant. Features and Experiences: • Design & Aesthetics: The washed, slightly wrinkled fabric gives it a relaxed, vintage look. It arrived neatly packed in a protective bag, which was a nice touch. • Storage: The capacity is impressive for its size (20L). It has a padded laptop compartment that fits a 17-inch laptop, plus multiple inner and side pockets that keep items organized. • Functionality: The drawstring plus buckle closure feels secure, and adjusting the side straps adds extra protection. There’s even an anti-theft back pocket and a sunglasses strap, which I found practical. • Comfort: The padded straps are wide enough to distribute weight well. At only 1.3 lbs, it’s very light to carry. • Material: The nylon fabric feels durable and is water-resistant enough for light rain. The wrinkled texture adds character, though it may not appeal to everyone who prefers a sleek look. Pros and Cons: Pros: • Lightweight yet spacious (fits laptop, books, and extras easily) • Multiple compartments for organization • Water-resistant nylon • Comfortable padded straps • Stylish casual design with included pom-pom keychain Cons: • Wrinkle texture might not suit everyone’s style • Drawstring closure takes an extra step compared to a zipper • Limited structure when empty (can look floppy) Conclusion: Overall, this Ankery backpack strikes a good balance between style and practicality. It’s great for students, casual day trips, or even as a light travel bag. If you like a retro look and don’t mind the drawstring style, it’s a solid choice at its price point. Read more

There's a LOT to say about this bag. First: as the item details page shows, it's a big drawstring canvas bag with backpack straps and three extra exterior pouches: a front flap with a magnetic clasp and two water-bottle holders on the sides with drawstrings. The item page has dimensions and I believe them. What the page doesn't show well is that it has a lot of interior pockets. The ones in the front flap are about the right size for pens/pencils, calculators, cell phones, etc. There are two partial pockets in the main compartment-- each of those look big enough to secure a 17" laptop (which incidentally is my intended purpose in acquiring the bag). The pack has loops at the bottom that I assume are for camping bedroll, and a kind of hidden pocket that's either intended for theft-prone items or maybe to put lumbar support in it? The bag looks incredibly sturdy. It LOOKS water-resistant, but the main flap does not easily cover the drawstring opening, so even if the material is waterproof, I would not advise this thing in inclement weather. I didn't dock it a star for this because I'm not sure it's SUPPOSED to be splashproof. Oh, and it comes with a small stuffed creature, which I assume is intended as a charm for the loops on the side of the bag. Overall, a surprisingly good bag for the $30 item price. Read more

If you want a bag that looks like it belongs at a campus quad and actually carries what you throw at it, welcome home. The Ankyery’s padded laptop compartment fits a 17-inch machine with room to spare, which is rare for drawstring-style packs that usually pretend they’re for gym shorts and optimism. The washed texture and slightly vintage finish mean it looks cool even when you haven’t earned the right to look cool yet. The build is lightweight at just over a pound, which makes lugging books less of a full-arm workout, and the water-resistant nylon dries quickly after an unexpected shower encounter. The wide padded straps and cushioned back are thoughtful additions—this is a bag that cares about your shoulders even if you don’t though I’d still avoid turning it into a portable library for more than a block or two. Pocket layout is practical, not obsessive; you get the essentials without feeling like you’re unpacking a Swiss Army knife. It’s got a playful charm with the pom-pom and buckle drawstring, which is cute until the pom-pom starts collecting lint like it’s a fashion vacuum cleaner. The closure is secure but slower than a zip when you’re late and dramatic, and the drawstring sometimes scrunches the top in a way that makes you look like you’re smuggling an orange under your shirt. Still, style points and actual functionality balance out the quirks. Though keep in mind the material is thin and there is very little padding in comparison to some other 17+ inch backpacks, so be careful when stuffing it full of things as something might get broke, and/or poke into your back. In short, a smart campus bag that understands priorities, protect laptops, look good, don’t drown in a light rain. It’s dependable, attractive, and slightly cheeky, exactly the kind of middle-ground buy most people need. :-D Read more
