I think of these like tires on a car, when worn down, they lose effectiveness, and then safety suffers. I always manage to wear one tip out faster than the others on my quad cane, but when that happens, I still replace all four. They aren't terribly expensive, and it's much easier to keep them all at top performance. I have a McKesson quad cane with a small base and these Drive brand tips fit perfectly. I have a cane with a narrow tip that I use indoors and out. This cane tip fits well, is very sturdy, and I have found that it gives good grip on wet and dry surfaces. the handle of my cane is metal, so the somewhat increased weight of this does not bother me at all. i have had this on my cane for about seven months and it doesn't show much wear at all. These tips are so hard to find. This company nailed it on fitting snug and perfectly. It matches the orginal Hugo cane tips, perfectly. They are thick and well made.
