Yes, they are water proof and very comfortable. I wade fished in the Kenai river all day and my feet stayed warm and dry. Of course I had waders on but between the waders and my waterproof socks my feet stayed dry. I bought a second pair and would purchase them again. Read more
I got these for my son who is 5'6 and weighs 130 pounds. As a teenager he does not have super thick ankles. I think I would wear this same style myself as a woman, I don't have very thick ankles. These worked well for my son in the snow, they were a good price, and are a good quality. Read more
This is an update of an early review. The first pair I received leaked and my feet were soaked in less than a minute. If this happens to you, contact the company. They sent me replacements that work as expected. They aren't rubber boots, so eventually some water will seep in, but I had two walks on waterlogged trails and my feet were dry. Good for short day hikes or wet walks when it's cold. For heavy exercise or for backpacking, get wool and accept wet feet. Water will get in and stay in (from the top or sweat). They don't dry easily. But, for when you'll be out and it's wet and cold, throw them on. That's where they shine...as long as you get ones that don't leak. Read more
Tested in a bucket of water before using. Sock conformed to my foot nicely. Not tight, but firm. During runs and bike rides in wet conditions, my foot remained dry with a slight hint of humidity/moisture. There was no "wet" sagging at the instep or across the toes or elsewhere. Warmth provided was great for the 30 F to 50 F temp range for <6 mile runs. Time will tell how durable they are. Read more
I have several pairs of waterproof socks spanning many years of use. Typically they are constructed in some fashion that makes them little mini sweatboxes. Not these. They are just warm socks that are just as comfortable as ordinary thick winter socks. In fact, I've worn them in the morning prior to a bike ride in the rain, then it doesn't rain and I end up forgetting about them and wearing them all day just like they were normal socks. I've got 4 pairs of them and if it weren't for the price compared to regular socks, I'd have more and wear them all the time Read more
They wiil keep your feet dry, but they are not a warm pair of socks. I am size 8 shoe so ordered mediums and they are a little big... but it works because you need a 2nd pair for warmth Read more
Worked the first time I tested them by running water over them. Second time, I wore them kayaking and the little bit of spray that made it into the kayak soaked through. Feet were wet at the end of the day. Not worth it. Comfort is similar to normal socks, slightly thicker than a normal wool sock. They look great but not for how much they cost. Read more
