I purchased it for my europe trip. I have so many hair tools at home but due to different voltage, I decided to buy this one. Love the compact size and it has both straightener and curling iron functions. I curled my hair and my curls lasted for two days. This review is for the curling iron, I did not use the flat iron portion. I purchased for cruise travel. It packs small and perfect as I didn't want to take up space for 10 day cruise. It heated up nicely and gave some awesome curly curls that lasted through the evening. It's not as long as a typical iron, compact by design; I did not burn as a result, but was careful handling. I love that it's dual voltage as I will be traveling to Germany and Iceland soon and will be taking this with me. For reference my hair is medium length and thick and my go to iron is a larger barrel. This worked quick and easy to curl. Read more
I am so glad I bought this little device. I have been to Europe a few times, but I have never had success being able to style my hair how I would want to while there. I blew out my flat iron the last time I was in the UK, and had to wear my hair in its natural state for the rest of the trip. This time, I didn't want to take any chances and did a lot of research before deciding to purchase this hot tool. And I am so happy that I did! It works marvelously here in the US, and worked just as wonderfully during my week in France and my week in Italy. Heats up well, maintains a great temperature, and provides curls that stay put better than my curling wand I have been using prior to buying this. Once I got home I found myself picking this up and still using it, because it curls so well! I love the travel case! This is going to be such a handy tool to use for both domestic and international travel--as well as here at home, too! I was worried it would be too small--but it really was just fine. I loved that the dual voltage feature just works automatically. You plug it in (of course, needing the appropriate adaptor for the country you are in, if applicable) and turn it on, and that is it. The iron will automatically use the correct voltage. I knocked off a star only because the straightening feature isn't great...It works for straightening a few pieces here and there, but if trying to style all my hair straight, this didn't work for me. My hair got caught in the space between the plates and the plastic part of the iron (several of my hairs are still stuck to it, to prove it) and for whatever reason it just didn't make my hair look as smooth as I am used to seeing with my other flat iron. But on my trip, I decided that I would stick to wearing my hair curled, and just used the flat iron feature for the pieces around my face, and that worked great. The other reason I knocked off the star is because this iron has an extra plastic piece that is used to rest the iron on when you put it down (so that the hot part isn't touching the table directly). While styling my hair, this piece gets caught in my curls all the time--which drives me crazy and makes the curl look messy. My other curling irons have a metal RETRACTABLE piece that you can pop out when you need it, or pop back in so it is flush with the rest of the iron when styling. This would be much better! I am an Asian woman with lots of hair and I wasn't sure if this is big enough to handle my thick hair, but to my surprise they are holding up pretty good. I just have to do a bit smaller bundle of hair at times but I don't mind. I LOVE the fact that I can go back and forth with flattning and curling function withouth changing hand. There is no tempurture setting capability and the temp is pretty high, my Asian hair calls for about the highest temp anyways so it is okay for me but may not be for a finer hair. The travel bag IS NOT high temp iron safe (I rest my iron and the inner surface melted a little) so make sure to cool off a bit before you store it. Read more
I'll give ita 4 star for it's size and weight. Perfect for Travel with dual functionality and voltage. It hears up quickly. I just wish that that the ceramic part is a bit longer or wider for a bit coverage. It's too thin and too short. This will work best for short hair but imagine using it for longer hair, Ugh. It will take time to finish your hair. Less 2 star for the falsy design that the outer and tip part heats up and I burned my finger not realizing that it does. It didn't come with gloves. No auto-shut off. The cooling was slow. Don't put it on its bag yet when it is cooling down coz' it will burn it. Read more
